Description: 2 volumes, large 8vo (254 x 160mm.), FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE (with plate 28 in vol. 1 (at p.389) misdated "1284" and p.222 of vol. 2 blank), hand-coloured aquatint frontispiece, 70 hand-coloured plates and one plain plate (35 in vol. 1; 36 in volume 2), mostly by Robert Cruikshank (plates in volume 2 slightly out of order from plate 20 onwards), further illustrations in the text by Cruikshank, contemporary grey brown boards, printed paper labels on spines, a few gatherings unopened, each in collector's folding cloth box, some rubbing to boards, spines a little creased and split at hinges, minor loss to corner of leaf H2 in vol. 1, plate at p.76 in vol. 2 coming loose, occasional offsetting
