Philadelphia, PA, USALive Auction
William and Mary walnut spice chest
Molded top above arrangement of eight drawers on molded base and ball feet.
H: 20 1/2, W: 17, D: 9 in.
The Estate of Andre and Nancy Brewster, Maryland.
Wear consistent with age. There is a scuff and chip to one corner of the base molding and a scrape to one drawer front. Two drawer brasses have detached pulls, but these are intact with the chest. The pulls are old, but not necessarily original. The front of the chest is missing the door. The stiles have been fluted sometime after initial production. There is a patch to the front of one of the top drawers, as well as a repair to the molding at the top.
