Description: William Henry Chandler (American, 1854-1928), two pastels on paper depicting natural landscapes: the first a spring landscape showing lake surrounded by rolling tree- and flower-covered hills, unsigned, ss: 13 1/2" h. x 27 1/2" w.; and the second a summer landscape showing waterfall flanked by banks of flowering trees, signed LL, matted behind glass, mat burn and discoloration to mat, ss: 13" h. x 16 3/4" w., both with expected wear including some discoloration and waving to paper, frame with finish loss and scattered chipping. [Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the New Britain Museum of American Art. PROVENANCE: Artwork formerly included in the NBMAA Study Collection.]
