Between 1907 and 1918 he regularly exhibited at the Royal Canadian Academy. He had works displayed in the Art Association of Montreal's spring annuals from 1908 to 1914, as well as in the Canadian Art Club exhibitions from 1912 to 1915. This fine painting was exhibited in 1973 in Joan Murray's groundbreaking exhibition Impressionism in Canada at the Art Gallery of Ontario. In the exhibition catalogue Murray comments that in Berthier, PQ, Clapp brilliantly demonstrates the loose painterly technique of what was modernist Impressionism. E20000-30000
