30 7/8in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, broad rib with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end and engraved ''WILLIAM MOORE & GREY. 43. OLD BOND STREET. LONDON.'', and ''2'', 2 1/2in. chambers, open chokes, converted from muzzle loading to incorporate J. Thomas rectangular wedge bolt patent locking system, patent no. 3091 of 1871, use number 3635, bolstered action with carved percussion fences, non-rebounding sidelocks with finely engraved dolphin hammers, beaded border and bold acanthus scroll engraving, the bowed triggerguard with a pointer on point, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/8in. figured stock including steel buttplate, retaining traces of finish and with elongated backstrap engraved ''2'' and with a brace of grouse, weight 8lb. 4oz., in a brass-mounted mahogany case with William Moore & Grey trade label
