Description: DESCRIPTION: A WWII era Japanese sword made during World War Two in one of the factories in Gifu Prefecture. The name of the worker who signed it is Kanenori. The full signature reads Seki Kanenori Saku (made by Kanenori in Seki Province). This is the old name of modern Gifu Prefecture. Standard WWII era mounts. The tassels being a miscellany of non-military tassels added to the sword at a later date. Leather covered wood scabbard with hanger ring and decorated toe. MEASUREMENTS: Blade is 26-1/4". 38" overall. CONDITION: Light scratching and spotty discoloration to blade. Moderate verdigris to the base of the blade. Moderate surface wear and discoloration to scabbard. ESTIMATE: $500 - $800
