Stated to have been the sidearm carried by Harper during WWII, to include being worn while delivering General Anthony McAuliffe's response "Nuts" to German demands for surrender during the Siege of Bastogne. Wilson Combat magazine. | Caliber / Gauge: .45 | Barrel Length: 3.5" | Serial Number: 778099 | Condition: Very good. Light wear. Bore shows wear from use. | Provenance: Consigned by General Harper's grandson. Joseph H. "Bud" Harper (May 1, 1901 – August 8, 1990) is best known for delivering General Anthony McAuliffe's response "Nuts" to German demands for surrender during the Siege of Bastogne. Includes LOA from Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) William H. Harper, USAF – Grandson of Major General Joseph H. “Bud” Harper.
