Chakra 6 - oil on canvas(39 views)
Description: Chakra are energy centers of the body illustrated as mandalas. The term is from Hindu philosophy. Kundalini or Tantric Yoga suggest there are 6 to 7 Chakras starting at the base of the spine, down to the genital region and on up to the crown of the head. In China there is a different number, often 3 and they are called dan tien . They are part of both Chi Gung and Circulation of the Chi practice. In Japanese Zen meditation the energy center for the body, just below the navel, is meditated on. This leads to, attentive peace, mindfulness within the world, while Tantric Yoga’s aim is more one of transcendence through realization and concentration on the upper chakras. My Chakra are mandalas meant to be viewed as symbols of these energy centers or self-centering in general. It is the individual who should react as they are moved to determine the meaning for themselves. These Chakra are complete within each one or can be viewed placed in a series.
