Egyptian Revival Clock circa 1880(221 views)
Description: An Egyptian Revival Clock, circa 1880. Material White Metal. Size: 22.5” tall, 14.5” wide and 6” deep. Condition: not running (strike bell is missing), the pendulum is intact, the outside needs to be cleaned and the polychrome decorations should probably be enhanced. There are several decorative elements missing: the snake tip on the figures head piece; the tip of her spear, a palmetto is broken and re-attached to the left swan; a decorative element is missing from the clock surround. The front and rear clock glass doors are intact. This is a very decorative clock that would be suitable on an Egyptian credenza by firms like Pottier and Stymus or Herter Bros. This clock weighs 22.5 lbs. If shipped, what ever can be dissembled, should be removed: the figure and the two swans on either side of the base. The clock is marked with a hall mark and is probably French. The clock movement looks like it should be cleaned but the brass is bright.
