Important Federal Sideboard(194 views)

This beautiful sideboard was probably made in Boston and is similar to the sideboard shown in Henry Sargent's famous early 19th century Boston painting "The Dinner Party" (now in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts' collection). The piece has outstanding matched flame mahogany, swell front ends flanking a recessed center, and fine reeded Sheraton legs. 3 doors open to 2 large storage sections. 4 drawers include wine drawer with original dividers and center drawer with 100-year-old flatware compartments. The lion head pulls are old replacements.
