Description: This Pre Columbian Paracas border is decorated with five occulet beings in pink/blue/yellow/green on a brown ground. Plain Weave cottton ground with stem stitch embroidery. The use of pink and green dyes are highly unusual. A similar image is illustrated in TO WEAVE FOR THE SUN #189 Similar weavings from the same collection are illustrated in Ancient Peruvian Textiles by F. Anton, fig. 52-53.
