Description: Magnificent engraving of the base and capital of various Roman columns by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778), the greatest engraver of ancient ruins in Rome. Upon his death, sons Francesco and Piero took the copper printing plates to Paris and published magnificent editions of their father's work.
