Simplon Orient Express(184 views)
Description: During the interwar period, Roger broders was the finest designer of French travel posters. Many of his best were for the French railroad, the PLM. But, on occasion, he was commissioned to do a poster advertising the services of other luxurious railroads of the day...like the Simplon-Orient-Express. A visually descriptive poster in which an English Grenadier Guard points stoically to the start of your journey..while a mustachioed man in a fez gestures toward a variety of exotic destinations, including Athens, Bucharest, and Istanbul. Combined with the sun-soaked image of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, this poster makes the Orient Express appear to be the best of all travel options. Great poster! This is an original vintage poster, printed c. 1922.
