Kenn Backhaus, who is a living Bucks County impressionist, has painted a series of bridges in his local area. "Stillness" is a painting in that series. It depicts subtle early morning light after an evening snow. Backhaus is a Master level in both Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society. He is a Signature Member and past president of Plein Air Painters of America, the oldest plein air organization in the country and a Signature Member of the California Art Club. Backhaus was featured in the APT Television Series, Passport and Palette and the PBS Series Plein Air, Painting the American Landscape. His work was featured on the cover of Plein Air Magazine, fall of 2011, and an article in March, 2012. His work was published in Art of the National Parks in 2013.
