About Us

The Canterbury Auction Galleries. Auctioneers of Fine Art and Antiques. Victorian, Edwardian and Later Effects.

Kent's Leading Independent Auctioneers of Fine Arts and Antiques.

On-Line Catalogues Are available approximately 1 week prior to auction.

Situated in the centre of the historic Cathedral City of Canterbury are the long established auction rooms of The Canterbury Auction Galleries. There is extensive public car parking opposite the auction house and the main line railway station (Canterbury West Station) provides regular services to London.

Being a traditional auction house, we place great store on the core value of service to our vendors and buyers alike but, as technology plays an increasing part in our business, we have had to integrate this technology with tradition to improve all our services.

A calendar is produced each year, to include six specialist auctions of Fine Arts and Antiques, and these sales contain a selection of antique and quality furniture, ceramics and glassware, silver and jewellery, objets d'art and collectors' items, oil paintings, watercolours, prints and drawings, clocks and watches, and rugs and carpets.

Detailed, illustrated catalogues with estimated guide prices are produced for these auctions, which can be found both here & on our own website.

Digital images of lots not illustrated can be requested via e-mail.

Supplementing these specialist sales are monthly auctions, which include a selection of Victorian, Edwardian and modern furniture, china, glassware, pictures and collectors' items, etc.

There are extensive viewing arrangements, including evenings, in our spacious well-lit galleries for all our sales.

We also specialise in the production of comprehensive written valuations for Insurance, Probate and Family Division purposes. In addition to making home visits, Valuation mornings are held most Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and we invite you to bring along your antiques and collectors' items for a free appraisal as to their age, origin and potential saleroom value.
