Description: EXCEPTIONAL STRASBURG, VIRGINIA MOLDED AND DECORATED EARTHENWARE CAT FIGURE, lead and manganese glaze over a light yellow slip wash, solid right-facing seated figure with tail to front over the haunches, stamped oval eye-like device delineating eyes, ears and mouth, raised on a conforming base with boldly notched edge. Description: OUTSTANDING STRASBURG, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt glazed, approximately 4 gallon capacity, elongated ovoid form with an angled-collar rim and slightly arched tab handles. Exuberant brushed bright cobalt decoration comprising tripartite leaves, flowers, vines and plumes full round, additional cobalt on top of handles.
