  New Orleans Auction Galleries invites you to our December Estates Auction. The December 10-11, 2016 sale will feature a large collection of antique furniture, fine and decorative arts, lighting, jewelry, silver and more.  Included is a large collection of southern fine and decorative arts, with paintings by Louisiana artists Jose Cundin, George Rodrigue, Ida Kohlmeyer and Ellsworth Wooward, art pottery from Newcomb College, Shearwater, George Ohr and Mary Kirk Kelly, and sporting art by Brett James Smith, William Alther, Herb Booth and others.  Also featured are collections of Art Deco furniture and Continental Empire silver, along with tapestries and Oriental carpets, bronzes, porcelain and much more.

Condition Report: In overall good condition with normal mars, abrasions, shrinkage and wear. Tight and structurally sound. The cane is somewhat stretched. There is a patch/repair to the cane in a lower corner of the chair back. No breaks or repairs to legs noted. There is some worm damage along the back seat rail, and the rear rail of the seat's cane frame; it does not appear to affect structural integrity. Seat height: 17-3/4", chair width: 27-1/2", depth: 25-1/2".

Description: Louis XV-Style Kingwood, Parquetry-Inlaid and Gilt-Bronze-Mounted Side Table, early 20th century, attributed to Francois Linke, the shaped top with a cast bronze rim and a parquetry-inlaid surface, one side fitted with a drawer, each bronze mount engraved on its backside with a Roman numeral registration mark corresponding to its mounting location on the table, h. 29-1/2", w. 32", d. 20-1/2". Condition Report: In fine condition. There are some old professional pieced-in repairs to the parquetry-inlaid top, near the right rear corner. All of the bronze mounts are present and have very crisp detail. The legs are strong and solid. Nicely refinished at some time with good, rich color.
