(incl. one hand-col.), correct as listed, some offsetting from plts., orig. cloth with remains of printed paper label to spine, sl. soiled and faded, joints and spine cracked, 24mo, contained in modern purpose-made cloth book box. Contemporary ownership signature of Robert Pitcairn to front pastedown. Robert Pitcairn (presumably the same person) was a Scottish emigrant who came to Van Diemen's Land in 1824 to begin a notable life as a lawyer and law reformer, property owner, anti-transportationist, campaigner for responsible government, and first owner of Runnymede, the National Trust property at New Town, Hobart.
