Lot includes a mold for a Wedjat, or 'Eye of Horus', a large Solar Disc for inlay or a tile, a flower, a pineapple-shaped collar element, a fruit-shaped collar element, a corn-flower petal for a collar, a large floral element for inlay or a tile, a cartouche with royal name, a knot of Isis amulet, an ankh amulet, an amulet of the god Pataikos, and a scarab. One with minor losses and a couple containing white paste where the amulet wasn't removed from the mold. Well preserved. Largest measures 2 in (5cm) in diameter. Description: An Egyptian terracotta black-ware bottle in the form of a woman breastfeeding the god Bes, Graeco-Roman, c. 4th Century BC - 3rd Century AD, nicely detailed, her features pleasant, the god reclining in her lap in the manner of an infant, H: 2 3/4 in (7 cm).. Bes was believed to ward off any evil hovering around a bother and newborn, and this depiction is likely a representation of this role. Intact with well-preserved slip. Mounted on an antique base with collection number painted i white on back. Ex property from the collection of Joseph Klein (1899-1987), New York City. Mr. Klein sought out and acquired these souvenirs as part of his vast collecting interests. Said to have collected in the manner of an 18th century connoisseur, his overall collection showcased his diverse array of artifacts acquired over a period of 45 years and included the art of ancient China, Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome.

Description: A pair of busts from Egyptian terracotta fertility 'dolls', Late Middle Kingdom - 2nd Intermediate Period, c. 1759 - 1570 BC, each with bird-like features and wrapped headdresses. The shorter head wears a wide collar just above her small breasts, a counterpoise down her back in the form of two conjoined disks, her wig thick and formed into vertical rows around the head with punched texture. (2 1/8 in, 5.5cm not including stand). The other with a tripartite headdress with incised band across the top of the head, three incised folds down the back, her breasts with wide nipples and a ring of scarification around the base of each and also around her belly button. H: 2 3/8 in (6 cm). Terracotta fertility "dolls" are noted from burials in Egypt dating from the 12th through 18th Dynasties and appear to have been placed in the graves to ensure the rebirth and fertility of the deceased in the next world. Both mounted on custom bases and are extremely fine examples of the types. Interesting handmade terracottas blending Western Asiatic and Egyptian culture. Description: A very large Egyptian Predynastic red burnished jar with incised 'centipede', Naqada II, c. 3600 - 3300 BC, with conical body tapering to a narrow, flattened base, the neck narrowed with rim rolled outward. The surfaces are beautifully burnished with mottled red surfaces, an incised centipede-like character which originally identified the owner or perhaps family, on one side. H: 11 1/4 in (28.6 cm). Intact with a few age cracks near rim. These vessels are extremely rare with any kind of personal markings such as this one possesses. Ex Orange County private collection.

One example has extended fingers and is from the late New Kingdom - 3rd Intermediate Period, c. 1292 - 945 BC, with traces of deep yellow paint, (7 in, 17.8 cm), and the second is clenched around the handle of an implement, (indicated by a vertical hole), Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, with remains of gesso and traces of pigment, (5 5/8 in, 14.3 cm). Description: A large and beautiful Egyptian bronze head of Osiris, 26th Dynasty, c. 664 - 525 BC, from a statue which originally stood approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet tall. This Osiris is depicted wearing the white crown with a well-defined uraeus (cobra) featured at the bottom center, its tail rising toward the top of the crown. The eyes are heavily outlined and the eyebrows are well defined, while the lips, cheeks and ears are all well modeled. H: 6 3/4 in (17.1cm). The surface has an overall greenish patina with the original bronze coming through in some small areas. Presented on a custom made Birdseye maple stand.  Ex New York City collection acquired in the late 1960's.

BC, also known as the young god Horus, depicted nude, wearing a tight fitting cap with uraeus and side lock of youth, he holds his right index finger to mouth, his left is clench at his side. The figure is solid cast and stands on an integral rectangular base, the front and proper right side of which carry a hieroglyphic inscription, which is a short prayer to the deity for life. A very large and fantastic example with wonderful style, really giving life to this important Egyptian god. H: 8 5/8 in (21.8 cm). Intact with a mottled green patina and excellent surfaces. Description: A large and beautifully patinated calcite vessel inscribed with the cartouche of Pepi I Meryre, c. 2332 - 2283 BC, reading 'Son of Ra, Pepi'. The vessel is substantial, the thick walls gracefully flaring outward to a rounded rim, ridge running just beneath, the base is flat. Apparently the vessel endured a fire within the tomb which left the still polished surfaces with a gorgeous reddish brown to black patina, lightly cleaned around the cartouche. H: 6 1/8 in (15.7cm); Dia: 5 3/4 in (14.6 cm). . Repaired with some pitting around the base from the heat of the fire. Description: A wonderful complete set of 4 Egyptian limestone canopic jars, Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasty, c. 664 - 343 BC, each jar with cylindrical body tapering at bottom to a flattened base, the shoulders rounded with hollowed interior. The lids are sculpted in the form of the Four Sons of Horus, including Baboon-headed Hapy, human-headed Imsety, falcon-headed Qebehsenuef and jackal-headed Duamutef; each preserving pigment for the eyes, face, headdress and collars.Each jar with accompanying lid is intact with minor nicks and weathers and retains some of the resins and essential oil used during the embalming process.
