Description: DUTCH FOUR-FOLD POLYCHROME AND GILT LEATHER SCREEN 18TH CENTURY each fold comprised of three leather panels embossed and decorated with flowering urns amongst C scrolls, lambrequins and strapwork Overall 248cm wide, 228cm high

Condition Report: Generally the screen is in fair condition, particulary to one side. It is double sided with the same leather panels to each. Side A Generally the leather is fine and naturally ages with allover cracking to the surface. Paintwork is reasonably fresh with some cracking and the gilt is evident but slightly rubbed and faded. The panels have been re-mounted in the frame (which may be later) and bound by faux leather strapping. As such the panels are showing nail holes round the edges as they are not in their original mounts. Mainor scuffs and one or two small emusion drips here and there One panel has worked free of its strappint to one edge and there is a small tear Side B General appearance of leather similar to side A however on the outer folds there are several significant tears to the leather and one panel has losses to one corner The central two folds are of with one panel having a small tear.
