Description: Exceptional hollow bluewing teal drake, Horace Merwin, Bridgeport and Southport, Connecticut, mid 2nd quarter 20th century. Made in the manner of Shang Wheeler, renowned Stratford, Connecticut carver. The maker's initials, "H.M." are stenciled on the underside. Superbly painted with highly detailed feathering rivals the best of the Connecticut makers.

Condition Report: Outstanding dry original paint with a nice patina; structurally excellent.
