An album of forty-six mounted albumen prints, c. 1870s, the first part of the album containing photos of the first Devon Militia in 1872 including group portraits, camp scenes, the Dartmouth regatta in 1875, plus some photos of non military scenes including horses and houses (one large photo identified as Wingfield, Eccles, Manchester, 1879), images approx. 20 x 29cm and smaller, mounted back to back with ink captions beneath, the final seven photos (each approx. 21 x 26cm) being of Ceylon interest, c. 1890, including two views of Newmarket Bungalow, two tea picking scenes, a Ceylon family group portrait, plus two scenes with elephants including one procession (identified as Scowen in the negative), some spotting to mounts throughout, a few leaves blank, contemp. red morocco gilt, rubbed, folio (1)
