Condition Report: Last two items have newer stickpins soldered to backs. Some missing coral beads to necklace and pendant. Light wear and oxidation to all jewelry items but overall good condition. Box shows wear and corner losses.

Qing Dynasty. 41 3/8" H x 55" W. Provenance: Purchased in 2007 from a deaccession sale of the University of Tennessee. Given to the university by Colonel Henry C. Cole who acquired it during his service as a physician in the U.S. Army.

Condition Report: Slight damage to arm/shoulder area, some loose thread on sleeves and discoloration of cream silk.

Description: Framed Royal Vienna porcelain plate of the Duchess of Devonshire (1757-1806) with cobalt blue and celadon green ground, gilded floral motif with silvered accents housed in a round, Florentine, ornately carved, pierced giltwood frame of a foliage design. On the underside of the plate is the Royal Vienna Bindenschild mark and the following markings: "Dec: 171/Depose/ 4094 36.a." A signature has been partially gilded over near the sitter's rose. Framed: 17-1/2" x 17-1/2" Sight: 9-1/2" x 9-1/2".

Condition Report: Frame has lost two pieces of its foliage, with areas of chipping of gilding and wood, in particular on the left side of the frame. Noticeable cracks in gilding at the top of the frame with evidence of one repaired crack.

Note: Moore's works are in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and The Washington County (MD) Museum of Fine Arts.

Condition Report: Overall very good condition. Blacklighting does not reveal any repairs or restoration. Some slight separation to frame joints on left side.

Description: Warren Sheppard (American, 1858-1937) oil on canvas marine scene depicting the Grand Canal of Venice, signed lower left. Housed in an elaborate period gilt carved frame. Sight: 11 1/2" D x 17 1/2" W. Framed: 19" H x 25" W. Late 19th century. Note: This painting was evaluated by the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. by then curator Perry B. Cott, letter included. Biography: A marine painter, Warren Sheppard was a designer and navigator of racing yachts and sailed widely along the New England coast. He won the famous New York-to-Bermuda race and published an authoritative book titled "Practical Navigation." He was also known for his canal scenes of Venice, many painted during his studies there from 1888-1893. He took art lessons from marine painter Maurice De Haas and exhibited at the Brooklyn Art Association, the National Academy of Design and the Pennsylvania Academy. Condition Report: Housed under glass. Overall very good condition with some light cracklure to canvas. Losses to lower right corner of frame. Frame also possibly regilded.

Description: Robert Chailloux (French, 1913-2005) oil on canvas, still life, depicting a porcelain tureen with brass pot, pitcher and various fruits against a plaster wall. Signed lower left. A label en verso gives this biography of the artist: Born in Paris, Chailloux studied art at the Ecole de Dessin de Belleville. He had his first exhibition in 1940 at the Salon des Artistes Francais and another in 1943 at the Salon de la Nationale. From there he became well known in art circles in France and the U.S. He is best known for his street scenes and "nature mort" still lifes. Giltwood and composition frame. 17-1/2" x 22-1/2" sight, 26" x 30" framed.

Condition Report: Small smudge lower right corner of canvas, small chips/abrasions to corner of frame.

Description: Regency japanned settee and two chairs, black painted wood with gilt highlights, with caned seats (also included are custom contemporary yellow upholstered cushions). Seat backs feature ball and turned spindles centered by tablets, each decorated with scenes of Chinese figures in landscapes, and divided by square tapered and curved uprights painted in a fret design. Round tapered legs with ring turnings. Settee: 35"H x 70-1/2" W x 27"D. Chair: 35-3/8" H x 22"W x 21"D. Probably English, early 19th century. Provenance: The estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville Tennessee; purchased in the 1960s from Jeanette Marks of Lexington, Kentucky.

Condition Report: Most if not all paint appears to be original. Significant wear / paint loss and fading on the backs, moderate wear to fronts, particularly on armrests. Seats need recaning.

Faceted corners and Sheraton style turned legs with spaced ring carvings ending in tapered spike feet. 29"H x 36"W x 18"D. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee.

Condition Report: Some small areas of veneer loss including a 1/2" area of loss to left side (rear) area. One glue block missing. Back left leg broken and repaired. Refinished.
