Description: Gothic pole arm with elaborate forged iron head showing multiple spikes and measuring approximately 18 ¼" from the tip to the end of the mounting ring not including the shaft. The head shows heavy pitting and a great dark patina and we would estimate its age at about 1450 or possibly a bit earlier. The head is mounted on a carved wood shaft that is darkened and shows good aging with knots and a rough type exterior. We would describe the shaft as a museum quality replacement of the 19th or 20th century. The pole arm is nearly 97" overall end to end. Gothic period weapons are seldom seen at auction and are mostly Victorian copies. A genuine artifact made before Columbus sailed to the New World. Est.: $1250-$2500

Description: High quality and unusual two tone pinfire revolver in original to the period French style case circa 1860s to 1870s. The unmarked double action revolver is in 7.5 mm pinfire with a six shot cylinder and is nickel plated on the barrel, cylinder, hammer and trigger with engraved and gold plated over brass frame. The elongated grip is oversized. The pistol is devoid of proofs or markings and is good quality. The grips are varnished walnut and are in good condition. The quality of engraving is good and the action works well. The pistol measures 8 ¼" overall with a 3 ½" barrel. This revolver is cased within its original to the period French style fitted case with 2 compartments. The interior of the case is in very good plus to near fine condition with just some slight fading and normal aging. The exterior of the case is veneered hardwood probably mahogany with brass inlays and in very good condition with just slight normal aging. A most interesting and unusual pin fire that actually fits a large hand. Est.: $800-$1600

Description: Double action pinfire revolver marked "Dumonthier" and is approximately 7.5 mm with nickel plated finish, burl Walnut grips, serial number 2357 in original trunk style French fitted case. The metal surfaces show 60% to 80% original nickel with some erosion and pinprick pitting just starting where the nickel has lifted. The initials J.M. are scratched in 2 places on the pistol with the date "9-4-74" (Sept. 4th, 1874). The pistol measures 9" overall with a 3 ¾" barrel and is of a slightly larger size than normally found and fits a large hand well. Dumonthier was a famous French arms maker and inventor most recognized for his knife pistols. The pistol is cased in the fitted French style and the case remains in very good condition with just some minor fraying and impressions. A tin cartridge box is included. The exterior of the case is brown dyed Moroccan leather with an embossed pattern and brass tacks. The exterior of the case is very good with normal aging and is missing its handle or strap. Description: Mariette Brevette four shot of pepper box revolver in good condition showing engraved frame and blacken hardwood grips, serial numbered 1537 on the butt. This pepper box is in approximately 38 caliber percussion with four shots barrel group measuring 3 ¼" and is nearly 7" overall. The frame and straps have been lightly cleaned and are in good condition. The barrels show traces of original blue finish going to a pleasant brown. The action works well and the barrels revolve nicely. The grips are very good plus and have been cleaned lightly. Mariette patented this under hammer design with ring trigger mechanism and licensed it to many European makers which is why this pepper box shows Belgian proofs. Est.: $650-$1300

This pistol remains in original very good plus condition showing 80% to 90% original bright blue with some erosion mostly on the left side and just beginning slight pitting. The action shows some bright original case hardening with mottled red gutta-percha grip scale which is in near fine condition. The smooth wood stocks are in overall very good as re-stocked. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings are still sharp on this rifle. The rifle retains approximately 85% barrel blue with some slight surface erosion near the muzzle. The action retains approximately 75% of its blued finish with thinning along the edges and on the underside of the action, in addition to the original brass cartridge counter. The smooth wood stocks are in overall very good condition with small mars and compressions consistent with use, while the lever still shows some case color in the protected areas. The rifle retains the original Savage marked, hard rubber butt plate with Indian Head logo. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings sharp. A fine Model 99 that has seen little use.
