Description: DESCRIPTION: A highly carved Swiss novelty parlor set in the rococo style, probably first half of the 20th century. The set consisting of two highly carved and inlaid rococo side chairs with lift seats. One chair being fitted out with a music box that plays when wound and the seat is lifted. The other piece in the set being a central pillar carved and inlaid parlor table. The table consisting of a highly carved foliate and acanthus carved pillar and scroll legs rising to a beautifully inlaid top of prancing stags. The inside of one of the chairs marked "WOOD CARVINGS/MADE IN SWITZERLAND/ALBERT SCHILD/INTERLAKEN" AND "DICHER UND BAUER HOMMAN'S ERZAHLUNGEN". Albert Schild opened his first woodcarving shop in 1898 where he made and sold wood carvings. In 1920, his son joined the firm and in 1973 he turned control of the business over to his nephew. Description: DESCRIPTION: Double door softwood Chippendale cupboard or linen press. The form consisting of well made ogee feet supporting a wooden cupboard with double paneled doors separated by a single double paneled section. The top has a fine dentil molding beneath a bold cornice. The cupboard is painted in a scraped down to mustard yellow paint. Case shows evidence of original hinges having been there but later broken out. The back consists of three large horizontal boards joined to the case. MEASUREMENTS: 52" x 18-5/8" x 75-1/4" high. CONDITION: Repairs. Patches. New hinges. Wear consistent with age.

Description: DESCRIPTION: An elaborate Scandinavian paneled folk art cupboard probably 19th century. The form relates closely to the German Schrank which was a moveable piece of traditional furniture and differed from the Kas which was generally built-in. The cupboard has two double doors with finely inset panels surrounded by elaborate wrought iron hardware. The case with finely carve horses heads that project forward from the fine carved pediment. The piece was originally painted but it has since been stripped. Probably 19th century. MEASUREMENTS: 62" x 45" x 100" high. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age.
