Also included is a Civil War muster roll for Company D of the 54th New York Veteran Volunteer Regiment, dated 1865. Documents show typical yellowing of aged paper, with edge wear. Some in much better condition than others, but all legible. Tin box shows some wear to paint, but no significant dents or damage.

This uniform most resembles uniforms worn by The 1st Florida Infantry, and also in the few other known images of Florida soldiers. Picture is housed in fully intact leatherette case, with minor light wear. Overall excellent example of a scarce Confederate ambrotype.

U.S. Navy Verdun, France 1918, Stephenson was attached to Naval Railway Batteries in France, he was wounded at Verdun in 1918, served with the Marine Corp expeditionary force in northern China 1927-28, appointed by Roosevelt in 1942 to direct the U.S. Typhus Commission, eponym Rear Admiral Charles S. Stephenson award for excellence in Navy occupational health preventative and/or health promotion by the Department of Defense.
