'Coalport Improved Felspar Porcelain' tea and coffee service painted with pattern number 830 of roses and other flowers within gilt vignettes and dentil rims, some bearing printed marks to include 'The Gold Medal Awarded May 30th 1820', comprising: ten tea cups, twelve coffee cups, twelve larger saucers, seven smaller saucers, eleven plates, a large and a smaller tall jug, a shallow jug, a waste bowl, a covered sugar, a tea pot, cover and stand (63) (D)

Condition Report: This is one of those services which has been filled up by later pieces of the same pattern when the originals have been broken or lost. The earlier wares bear either the full printed mark or the pattern number 830. Five of the tea cups bear the 830 pattern mark and just three of the coffee cups. Five of the coffee cups are of more generous shape than the early ones. Both types of cups can have differences in the way the foot rims are made. The twelve larger saucers are unmarked. Three of the smaller saucers are fully marked and two others bear 830. One unmarked saucer has a star crack. The eleven plates are unmarked and one has a star crack. Only the shallow jug is fully marked. The waste bowl is marked 830. The sugar is fully marked as is the tea pot stand. The tea pot has a chipped spout and bears the 830 mark

Condition Report: There is one minor nick to a point on one of the serrated rims - this could be just a loss of gilding as it does not feel rough to the touch. There is a line blemish within the glass which can be seen in the light looking inside the rim but not from the outside looking in
