Description: 1938 commemorated Broadway show "Hellzapoppin" with this .38 caliber double action H&R pistol, mounted on display plaque, serial number 66089 was a prop in that play and fired 100,000 shots. The revolver was placed in the Harold's Club Collection in Reno, Nevada on July 20, 1952 and a card signed by stars Ole Olson and Chick Johnson is affixed to the plaque with an engraved plaque 1938 Hellzapoppin". Also by collectors tradition this pistol was used in a Groucho Marx movie of the same name. From the Harold's Club Collection with their inventory tag attached number 723 as sold by Butterfields and Butterfields of San Francisco where it was listed in their catalog of the auction. The revolver remains in very good to near fine original condition showing lightly cleaned bright metal surfaces with nicely aged original grips showing some slight shrinkage due to age. The revolver is six shot and approximately 7.65 mm pinfire and measures 5" overall with slightly under 2" cylinder/barrel group. The pistol is contained within its original to the 19th-century pipe case with velvet and satin lining and leather cover. The condition of the case is very good with normal aging and some small losses around the latch area.
