Small series of three A.Ls.S., Effingham, nine pages (total), 8vo, Tusmore, Bicester, 24th February - 29th November 1906, two to Mr. Mutsey and the final letter to The Great Central Garage Limited. In the first letter Effingham asks Mutsey to instruct Lamplugh to proceed with the aluminium for a new body in order to save time, 'especially as he has your scale drawing of Mr. Hissey's car' and adds that he will settle further details with him 'when I come to London very shortly with the 40-H.P. Charron.' In the second letter Effingham accepts a price of £10 for the body and asks how soon Lamplugh will require the chassis to be sent to Paris, and in the third he forwards a cheque for £206.6.11. in payment of an account, although explains why he has deducted £5 relating to the value of a horn and siren which were delivered fixed to the chassis, 'they were of course intended to be on the chassis at Lamplugh's when the car was painted & finished off. Ferrari writes to his correspondent concerning the production of various cars for the following year, following their annual meeting and updating of technical specifications, and lists five models that they anticipate as being part of their production programme, '250 Granturismo coupe, 250 Granturismo Berlinetta, 250 Granturismo cabriolet, 250 Granturismo spyder California, 250 Testa Rossa....'. In concluding Ferrari further confirms that the 410 Super America will be produced in the second half of 1958 and considerable improvements will be submitted to Paris in October. Letters by Ferrari in which he discusses his cars are both rare and desirable. VG. £600-800
