Description: A beautiful cased Highlander officer's set of flintlock pistols, dirk and parts of uniform A pair of Highland Regiments flintlock pistols, with round, blued, 13 mm cal. barrels marked "LONDON", engraved locks signed "DONALD CURRIE" and provided with anti-friction a sealing systems; silver stocks engraved with thistles. A large dirk with single-edged blade, chiselled with waves at the back; typical grip of sculpted wood, at the pommel a big, faceted stone, silver mounts engraved with bands. The scabbard complete with knife and fork decorated en suite, at the rear surface three bands depicting inscriptions and dedications: "Kralju Petru II", "Lt. Colonel Dinitch Major Bogdanovitch Captain Miletich", "27th March 1941 27th September 1943 Scotland" and "Taylor Inverness" (length 42,5 cm). A knife with ebony grip, stone and silver mounts decorated with bas-relieved thistles. A leather belt with rectangular, silver buckle decorated with high-relieved thistles. Felix, Prince of Schwarzenberg (Böhmisch-Krumau 2 October 1800 - Vienna, 5 April 1852) was son of Joseph, Prince of Schwarzenberg, and brother of Johann Adolf II, Prince of Schwarzenberg. He was also nephew of Prince Karl Philipp zu Schwarzenberg, the commander of the Austrian armies in the last phases of the Napoleonic wars. Protégé and successor of Metternich, he was appointed minister-president and foreign minister in 1848, after spending years in the most important embassies in Europe such as St Petersburg, London and Paris. Hans Schmidt is documented in Ferlach from 1624 to 1669, he worked for Count Sigmund Ludwig of Dietrichstein. In 1628 he created possibly the most beautiful rifle ever made.
