Amongst them are: Moses Montefiore, Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer, (the "Ketav Sofer"), Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher, Wolf Heidenheim, Samson Raphael Hirsch, Jacob Ettlinger ("Aruch LaNer"), Yitzchak Brayns from Hamburg, Akivah Lehrn from Amsterdam, Elhanan Rosenstein from Berlin, Yona Yotlash from Prague and many others (names appear in Hebrew below the portraits). Pencil/graphite on paper, [Germany? second half of 19th century].A fine portrait, hand drawn on paper. Below the portrait appears the inscription: "...face of...Zekil Leib of Michelstadt" (handwritten).Rabbi Zekil Loeb Wormser (1768-1847), of Luria Ashkenazi family, descendant of the Maharsha"l and the Ariz"l. According to the legend he was born following a revelation of Elijah that his father experienced. As a young child he was known already as a genius, studied with his father and in his town. Founded a Yeshivah which he headed in Michelstadt. He was often approached with requests for prayers by foremost rabbis of his generation amongst them the Hatam Sofer and Chidushei Hari"m. On Rosh Hashanah 1847 he prepared his disciples for his death, and died on the following day, the Fast of Gedalya. Description: A commemorative sheet - celebration in memory of Rabbi Ephraim Elnekave. Tlemcen, Algeria, ca. 1920.Colorful print.Rabbi Ephraim Elnekave was considered a saintly rabbi and many legends were told about him. The rabbi moved from Spain to Tlemcen following the 1391 riots. The print features scenes related to the legends told about the rabbi. The image of a lion on the upper part refers to a story told about the rabbi and his disciples, who stopped amidst a journey to avoid consecration of Shabbat. According to the legend, after they stopped a lion tried to attack them but when it saw the rabbi, the lion calmed down and laid himself in front of the rabbi. The depicted spring refers to a legend telling the story about the rabbi who was thirsty on his way to Tlemcen, and managed to get water by hitting a rock, from which water came out pouring.26X20 cm, framed, good condition.

Akhaltsikhe, Georgia, 1891.Marginal ornaments - geometric patterns and simple vegetal images with golden ribbons, in a style characteristic of Akhaltsikhe Ketubahs.The amount inscribed is in the currency of Russian Emperor Alexander III. The witness "Ya'akov ben Moshe" signed in Hebrew while the other witnesses signed in Kartvelian (Georgian).On the reverse appears a list of dowry objects included in the amount of the Ketubah (gold, gold rings, silverware and copperware, clothes, silk fabrics and more).25 Ketubot from Georgia are documented in the Ketubot collection of the National Library of Israel, only two of them from the city of Akhaltsikhe.60X57 cm. Semi-circle shaped ornament for a Gargush headdress made of meticulous filigree craftsmanship. The ornament is made of pendants sewn to fabric, coral stones and bells attached to each pendant. Length: 29 cm, height: 8 cm. Good condition.2. Filigree belt on fabric, which was most probably worn on the forehead and attached to the Gargush headdress. The belt is made of three filigree bands with floral rings and pomegranate shaped pendants. Length: 36 cm. Good condition.

Description: Bracelet. Yemen, early 20th century.Silver; gem stones.This kind of bracelet is called "Kebur", literally- "tombs". It is possible that the name of the bracelet derives from the structures with slanted roofs which might resemble oriental tombs. The bracelet consists of two raws of structures, four in each raw. In general, such bracelets are decorated with gem stones and such is the bracelet presented. Yemenite Jews interpreted the tomb motif as a reminder that death accompanies joyful moments of marriage and birth. Wearing the bracelet during festivities was also considered as a protection against evil eye.Diameter: 7 cm. Good condition.

Surrounded by inscription "Zechor et Yom HaShabbat Lekadsho". A Torah Crown embroidered in gilded thread and set with gem stones appears on the upper part.
