In the centre of the mirror there is a relatively massive rounded handle. An outer decorative field is decorated with motifs of the stylized birds and flowers. The handle is encircled by the dragon with the body covered with scales, four legs with the three claws each, and the schematically indicated wing. The dragon is encircled by the four curved clouds.

Description: China, Tang dynasty (618-906). Height 16 cm. Bronze rectangular mirror with a protruding rim band decorated with a wave-like décor. The central plastic handle is created by the sculpture of a fantastic animal with four legs and a short tail. The handle is encircled by an image of a hunting scene in a landscape schematically depicted by plants and highly stylized mountains. The main part of the décor consists of four regularly arranged riders on horses, two of them shooting with bows with their heads turned backwards. Among the riders we find four fleeing animals (a doe, hare, wild boar, and perhaps a bear).

Description: China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Height 26 cm. Bronze censer on the three tall legs which are circular in cross-section. On the pronounced rim of the body with a round bottom are two vertical handles with a rectangular cross-section. The body is divided into three decorative fields by the narrow vertical ribs. Each of those fields is filled with an image of a theriomorphic face (taotie) with two oval eyes and without lower jaw, with eyebrows, heart-shaped ears, and two horns. The background is filled with a rectangular meander-like décor referred to as leiwen. In the upper part of each of the three legs there are protruding circular decorative bands with a narrow vertical rib.
