TWO DAY AUCTION: SATURDAY, August 23, 2014 - 11:00 AM and SUNDAY, August 24, 2014 - 11:00 AM. Our exciting summer 2014 auction will feature an incredible array of newly discovered fine art, decorative items, and nautical and historic treasures.
Sale Notes:
On Sunday, artwork by Milton Avery, Haddon Sundblom, Marguerite Zorach, Aiden Lassell Ripley, Stephen Etnier, Beulah Stevenson, William Zorach, Marguerite Robichaux, and contemporary Maine artists will be offered. Featured among the 87 lots of estate jewelry and watches will be Art Deco Period gem set pieces and a Master of Complications wristwatch by Franck Muller. Highlights of the silver collection include a pair of candelabra by Karl Faberge, and flatware sets by Georg Jensen and Tiffany; and items crafted by Meissen, Sevres, Royal Copenhagen, and Brother Thomas Bezanson (1929-2007) will headline the pottery & porcelain category. Furniture on offer will range from the Aesthetic to modern periods, featuring 9 lots of hand crafted designer pieces by Thos. Moser, a Danish modern coffee table, plus horn chairs, and wicker. Decorative lighting will include two Italian designer floor lamps and a selection of chandeliers. Sunday will also include a variety of musical instruments, including a David Hopf classical guitar and two vintage banjos.

Dauxdater, Lehigton, PA, 10.8.1894', as inscribed on ornate boiler brass plate; consisting of a horizontal single cylinder steam mill engine on a cast iron base with 3/4" bore x 1 1/4" stroke; two cylinder drain cocks; a functional pulley driven flyball governor and sliding crosshead, set on oak top table. Charles F. Dauxdater born 1860, was an engineer for the Lehigh Valley RR, obtained an 1892 patent for means for securing well-boring drills. Wood base is 25" x 21". Water tower is 22" high (incl. base). Missing small tank cover.
