TWO DAY AUCTION: SATURDAY, May 31, 2014 - 11:00 AM and SUNDAY, June 1, 2014 - 11:00 AM. Our Spring 2014 Auction will include important collections of Native American Artifacts and Historically Important Ephemera as well as Fine Art, Period Furniture, Jewelry, Silver and much more.
Sale Notes:
On Saturday, we will feature fine artworks by Jack Lorimer Gray, James Taylor Harwood, Pasquale Romanelli, Charles Francois Daubigny, Bruce Crane, Marc Aurele De Foy Suzor-Cote, Irving Ramsey Wiles, Francis Cote, and Thomas Mickell Burnham, plus three monumental 18th Century Italian capriccio paintings and a complete set of "The Seven Planets" 16th c. engravings. The selection of Native American artifacts will feature museum quality, 19th c., Northern Plains Indian beaded buckskin pieces, plus fine examples of carvings, pottery, paintings, jewelry, and important photogravures by Edward Sheriff Curtis. Among the many pieces of fine furniture will be a George III inlaid walnut bachelor chest, a Hepplewhite huntboard form butler's desk, a selection of painted chests and cupboards, and 5 early tall case clocks. Featured from the silver collection will be an 18th c. Boston porringer and George II sterling lidded tankard. Japanese, Chinese, and Turkish antiques will be offered, including porcelain, bronze, crystal, jade, and carved wood pieces. Two early Pennsylvania long guns and a confederate presentation sword will lead the firearms category, and there will be a diverse selection of oriental and hooked rugs.
