Description: Made by Evans Novelty Co., Chicago, Ill., lithographed tin, measuring 1 5/8" across, the Uncle Sam figure is shown pulling Hitler out of a fox hole and the lever in the pocket of Uncle Sam pulls Hitler out of the hole. The pin mechanism is in good working order. There is minor surface wear and no attempt has been made to clean this WWII era pin.

Description: Ironically made by the National Lead Company, and captioned The Dutch Boy Painter, stating that "This attractive fellow is the trade mark on absolutely pure white lead. All general painting should be done with it." National Lead Company. Embossed tin figure of little blonde boy holding a paint brush in his upturned right hand, wearing wooden shoes and holding a large tin paint bucket on his left side. Made as a match holder for a fireplace. The original painted surface seems to be in good condition and no attempt has been made to clean the surface. 6 1/2" tall by 3" wide. Two small holes for tacks in the center of his hat and between his feet for attachment.

Description: Probably 1940s or 50s, made to use as a trash can, colored River Cane materials, square base, so close to perfect it could be called that, possibly 2 separations of river cane and they may have been original where a second weaving was added, the surface is very dirty and could stand a good cleaning but has been left alone as it just came out of a private residence. No visible signature. 11 1/2" tall by 10" wide. This is as nice a Cherokee basket as you could hope to find.

Description: Incised stamp even mis-spelled but reading Gri?staff with the G upside down and backwards, old painted surface with floral decals, several rim chips, incised exterior bands clearly visible underneath the old crazed dark brown paint. Grindstaff was a well known potter in and around Knoxville, Tennessee. There are several large nicks to the top outer edge and the dimensions are 5 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" tall.

Description: Late 19th or early 20th Cent., inscribed on the interior back movement cover " To Frank Fontaine Harding/from his friends/in Public School 144/Brooklyn, NY/as an expression of/their sincere esteem". Made in Switzerland, 18K case, this pocket watch is still working, Tiffany & Co., No. 80182. The yellow hunting case is marked Tiffany & Co. K18 and bears the same stamp as the movement number. When wound, it begins running immediately. There is a very good seemingly mint porcelain face with the tiny marking of Tiffany & Co., recessed second hand. Mr. Harding was the Chancellor of the schools in Brooklyn, NY.in the 1880s and 1890s. The watch is about a size 14 and is in excellent condition.

Humphrey Woolrych, Paris 1888, done when the artist was only 20, born in Sydney Australia in 1868, studied in Paris at the Royal Academy in Berlin and the Beaux Arts in Paris, worked in and around St. Louis & Chicago, well exhibited and held in museums, the subject is an exotic lady in peasant garb holding a large tray on her left hip. She is a classic beauty. Image size is 18" tall by 10" wide, original wavy bubbly glass and frame which measures some 22" wide by 30" tall. From the Estate of a Chicago antique dealer who kept this watercolor on paper in her residence for many, many years.

Description: Living around Stanford, Connecticut, Dorothy Harding was a well known horse rider. She is shown riding her favorite chestnut colored horse with a braided mane, jumping a fence on a pretty fall day. Mrs. Harding is shown in a white sweater and stretched riding pants, both classical attire for the time period. The artist, was a well known Connecticut painter who signed and dated the oil on canvas 1965 in the lower right. 48" long by 36" tall, the painting has never been framed. The surface of the painting could use a light cleaning but could easily be used as it is.

Description: Marion Mabe McMannis was married to a Naval Attache who was in Sri Lanka in the 1930s. He purchased some tribal work there including this pair of leather covered Pinch Bottles and sent them home to his wife. The circular openings around the pinch areas have an almost inlaid checkerboard weaving in the leather and around the top area as well. Each of the pair retains their original leather covered stoppers. There is a matching band around the base of the bottles. 8" tall by 5" wide. The bottle glass has lines or ridges making you think it may have been hand blown into a mold and is a slightly grayish or light green in color but clear to see inside the pinch bottles.
