It is one of the largest private islands in the Pacific Ocean (22 square km) and was bought in 2005 by Hollywood actor Mel Gibson for $15 million. In the 1860s, Australians built on the island a sugar cane plantation plus mill and for this purpose founded the Mango Island Co. The mill was shut down in 1895. The bond we offer here is part of a £40,000 loan.
