Description: Produced by the C.F. Monroe Company of Meriden, Connecticut. Group of four hand painted porcelain Wavecrest dresser boxes. This is a nice assortment of some of the many box shapes Wave crest produced. Lot includes two larger round boxes, and two smaller boxes one square and one rounded square. The first of the larger boxes has a pink tint. Minimal if any losses to the paint. Hinges move freely and box closes firmly. Measures approximately 3"x 4.5" The second of the larger boxes has a blue tint, and minimal paint loss. Old repair to hinge needs to be done over. Clasp holds lid firmly in place. Original Wavecrest sticker on bottom. Measures approximately 3" x 4.5" The rounded square box, is mostly off white in color and has minor losses to the paint on the lid. Otherwise good. Hinge moves freely, and lid closes firmly. Measures approximately 2.5" x 3" x 3" The square dresser box is marked wavecrest on the bottom and has hints of yellow throughout. Design on the top, while floral, is reminiscent of the Maltese Cross. Minor losses to the paint otherwise good. Measures approximately 2.25" x 3" x 3"

Discovered at a shipwreck site off the coast of West Java, pieces recovered date to approximately 618-907 A.D. placing the lot in the Tang Dynasty (9th Century) and the Five Dynasties period (10th Century) Lot consists of four bowls, each in good to very good condition for being nearly 1000 years old. The rim of the largest bowl has a chip, otherwise, the lot as a whole is in impressive condition. The pieces have barnacles and evidence of other sea creature growth, which not only adds to the authenticity of their shipwreck provenance, but contributes to their appeal. The bowls in the lot can be divided into two shapes, bowls and pots, and large and small. The large bowl, with the chip in the rim, measures approximately 2.25" x 6" The small bowl, which has some minor chips to the rim as well, measures approximately 1.5" x 5" The large pot measures approximately 2.5" x 5" and the small pot measures approximately 2" x 5"

Description: Hand turned woodenware folk art wall hanging box attributed to Joseph Long Lehn of Pennsylvania. Lehn, a master Pennsylvania craftsman, was born in Manheim Township in Lancaster County Pennsylvania on January 6, 1798 and died September 16, 1892. Over the course of his life Lehn's Woodenware was widely regarded as the standard of the day, and Lehn's wood crafts remain very desirable to this day. The piece in this lot is a wall box, designed to be hung on the wall and hold a variety of items, from matches, to correspondence to even pins in the integrated pin cushion. Very good overall considering the age of the piece. Minor losses to the match strike strips on either side, other wise truly excellent. Measures approximately 5.5" x 7" x 15"
