Texas by Carin Palcer

Lot 1: Texas by Carin Palcer

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Size: 31 1/2" x 39 1/2" Carin Palcer was born January 3, 1966 in Vienna, Austria, and studied at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna, and later at F.I.D.M. Design and Marketing College, Los Angeles. Palcer is convinced that each color gives off its own energy, and that this energy has healing powers. The artist pushes this quest even further, however, by combining various forms into a kind of algorithm: a sun can be seen to rise, reach its Zenith and set again. In these combinations, pure forms seem to acquire a life of their own. In her art the particular sense of spirituality is created, which has an oriental Zen like quality about it. A circle can be used to symbolize Mother Earth or the planet Mercury. Gold can evoke a spiritual search for divine, non-created light. Palcer participated in the "Remake Berlin" exhibition and her work is on permanent exhibition at G & G Private Finance in Monaco. Her work is actively sold in the global auction market.

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Eating on the Run by Geri Dunn is a beautifully framed, triple matted graphite on Bristol board paper that measures 11 X 15. Many artists are gifted at writing witty descriptions of their work. Geri is not one of those artists. She simply loves what she does. She's inspired by the simple beauty that surrounds her. B orn in Lawndale, California, Geri Ann Tiffany was moved with her family in 1976, to the Santa Ynez Valley, just north of Santa Barbara. She's been drawing since she was 9 years old, and has nurtured the natural gift to draw ever since. All of Geri's drawings are carefully thought out months before the pencil ever hits the paper. She uses a wide range of graphite drafting pencils to create each piece of work. Each blank piece of paper is carefully selected to make sure there are no flaws within the paper. Geri choose Bristol Board paper, with a Vellum finish. Geri knew at an early age that her passion was art. Her interest in the West manifested itself through childhood drawings, and impressions gathered while growing up in a small town, rich with ranching history. A self-confessed dreamer, she strives to go beyond just the basic techniques of drawing, trying to convey the mood and feeling of the subject within all of her drawings. Geri hopes that her pencil drawings make the art come to life. In doing so, Geri wants her sensitivity and painstaking eye for detail to give her work a depth and dimension that is truly unique.

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: JawsII table sculpture by Raymond Rains Pure copper sheet is hand cut before placing on a clear glass sheet, then covered with another clear glass sheet. This “sandwich” is then placed in the kiln and fired to 1,500 degrees, fusing the glass and copper into a solid piece. The reaction of the glass to copper at these high temperatures produces surprising and unique color patterns. After attending a week-end glass workshop in 1999, Raymond's fascination with glass as an artistic medium led him to explore and develop his own style of glass art works. He is primarily self-taught, and his exploration in fused and blown glass has resulted in a distinctive style with exciting color patterns and beautiful fluid shapes. Raymond has gained award-winning recognition in a relatively short time and his work is in many collections.

Cake, strawberries, and lace by Bert Beirne

Lot 33: Cake, strawberries, and lace by Bert Beirne

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Cake, strawberries, lace by Bert Beirne is a framed original oil on panel measuring 9 X 12. Classical painting technique and traditional subjects meet in the distinctive, timeless oil paintings of Bert Beirne. Each work by this accomplished artist highlights her appreciation for the finest things in life; antique violins, elegant wine decanters and crystal glasses set amongst old books and sheet music, fruit and wine. In style and technique her works are comparable to the still life paintings of the early seventeenth century Dutch masters such as Kalf and Heda., with the same striking naturalism and subtle hues built by layers of translucent glazes. She produces her paintings by stretching fine linen and applying three to five coats of primer. The successive layers of paint create rich colors with depth and luminosity. All her subjects are painted from life, using only natural light only and set against simple backgrounds so as to set off the objects presented.

Description: Silver topped creamer, raspberries, and tapestry, Bert Beirne is a framed oil panel that measures 6 X 6.

Devotion by Lauren Herr

Lot 41: Devotion by Lauren Herr

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Devotion by Lauren Herr is a Pastel Painting measuring 30 1/2 by 42 5/8. New babies instinctively stick close to their mama's who are completely devoted to them. This handsome pair belongs to Brutus's band in Placitas, NM. Horsesform deeply bonded family bands. This beautiful paint and her foal are pictured against the fantastic New Mexican landscape. For as long as Lauren can remember she has been drawn to horses. They seem to possess a certain magnetism that keeps her intrigued. She initially started creating portraits of domestic horses until she was introduced to the quickly vanishing wild mustangs of the American West. As Lauren learned more about them and their struggle to remain free she felt compelled to illustrate their lives. Everything that makes a horse such an appealing subject, the strong line of their back, the graceful curve of their neck, long flowing mane and deep soulful eyes, seems to be amplified in these wild creatures. There is something truly magical about seeing these horses, completely self-sufficient, living free as nature intended raising their offspring and forming deeply bonded family bands. Lauren captures moments of tenderness, friendship, curiosity, and playfulness. Each piece begins with a pencil drawing on Arches watercolor paper. She uses powdered charcoal to block in the values followed by a series of gouache washes to seal the charcoal to the paper. Then she applies layers upon layers of soft pastels to create depth and form. These finished portraits represent a living symbol of American Heritage.

Description: White Stallion by Lauren Herr is a framed Pastel Painting as a portrait of a white stallion with over all measurements of 33 1/4 X 40 1/4. This stallion is Juan; a Placitas wild mustang. Juan is much more tolerant of young bachelor stallions than some stallions I've observed, but he always stays betweenthem and his band of mares. In this picture he was watching two young stallions come down the hill towards his band. He visited with them for a while but was careful to keep them a safe distance from his family. Description: Family Ties by Lauren Herr is a framed Pastel Painting of two brown and white paints with over all measurements of 21 3/4 X 37 1/2. These two paints live near Placitas, NM. While the adults were napping, three youngsters in the group decided sleep was over rated and began prodding, poking, and pestering each other. This yearling colt decided he'd had enough and hid behind mama Mercedes for protection. She obliged but didn't look particularly pleased about it. Horses use body language to communicate with each other. A look and a cocked hind leg were the only things Mercedes needed to deter her colt's playful pursuer.
