Description: Lovely pressed bisque head incised at the base of the neck "2/0" with large blue threaded eyes with an almond shaped eye cut. Mauve shading above the eyes further adds to this bebe's appeal, a closed mouth with slight separation between the lips, and pierced ears. She is on an eight separate ball joint body which is stamped on the back of the torso in blue "Jumeau Medaille D'or Paris", lower arms are German replacements. She has been well re-costumed in pale blue brocade silk with fancy lace and silk ribbon insertions on front panel with ecru lace trim at the shoulders and back of sash. The wig is honey human hair over cork pate which also has glued to it the remnants of the original sheepskin wig. SIZE: 14" (37cm). Description: Circa turn of the century, a finely cast lead base with a parian headed figure standing above. When the string is pulled the upper section revolves rapidly and the doll herself does a simulated step dance. This toy is in very fine all original condition including its elaborate costume. Description: An interesting story accompanies this doll. A gentleman from Rhode Island brought this doll to the Julia offices. He told us that his late wife rescued this doll from a trash heap in their neighborhood some 20 years ago. Extremely attractive hand painted cloth doll made in Central Falls, RI circa 1860 with one piece head and upper torso with all molded and painted features having wonderful detail to the ears and three dimensional molding to the eyes. She has short brown painted hair with four ringlet curls draping in front of the exposed ears, well molded eyelids and dark blue eyes with highlighted irises. The entire body is covered with stockinet and the hands and lower legs are also molded and painted cloth in a manner similar to the painting of the head. As is typical with these larger models she has the rarer bare feet with separately stitched toes. SIZE: 29" (73 cm). CONDITION: Some possible, very aged enhancement to lip coloring. Shoulder plate shows aged paint touch up to shoulder plate although black light inspection does not show these discrepancies. Further black light inspection reveals no touch up to facial features, head, or other body parts. Both ankles have been damaged at some point in the past and have been reinforced with old cloth. 1-13320

Together with a Kestner incised "143" with blue glass sleep eyes, open mouth with two upper teeth, on original fully jointed wood and composition body with remnants of a paper label from the G. A. Schwartz store in Philadelphia. She has her original blonde mohair wig and christening dress could be original. Last is a all bisque German doll with one piece head and torso, blue glass sleep eyes, open mouth with four upper teeth, bisque arms jointed at the shoulders, and bisque legs jointed at the hips with molded and painted shoes and stockings. Description: The larger of the two is a French bisque Jumeau incised "1907 12" and has lovely blue paperweight eyes, open mouth with four upper teeth, pierced ears, on the original fully jointed French wood and composition body. She has been appropriately redressed in pleated blue 1890s style dress and newer brown leather shoes and replacement human hair wig. Also included is a German molded bisque shoulder head doll incised on the back of the shoulder "1030 No. 8". She has lovely cafe au lait windblown hair pulled up into a bun in back with detailed hair comb and comb marks. She is on an old muslin stuffed body with white kid leather upper arms with bisque forearms. Dressed in a floor length plaid pleated wool dress. SIZE: Jumeau 27" (68 cm). Parian 17" (43 cm). CONDITION: Jumeau's body has typical wear and paint peeling, especially on fingers. Slight red line on outer surface only on forehead, not a damage. G." with spectacular pale blue threaded eyes, closed mouth with delicate lip highlighting, pierced ears, deep dimple in chin, and mounted on a separate bisque shoulder plate with similar markings. She is on the original white kid body with gusset joints at elbows, hips, and knees, with well detailed bisque forearms. The blonde mohair wig appears to be original and covers the original cork pate. The velvet silk ribbon and lace bonnet is antique and the robins egg blue silk and ecru lace dress are very well made by an expert seamstress. Stockings and undergarments are antique and the black leather shoes are well made replacements. SIZE: 17" (43 cm). CONDITION: Overall very good. Missing thumb on left hand, minimal loss of color at nose and chin tips, old patch on leather body where bisque arm is joined to the leather upper arm. 1-13299

Description: A very fine example of a paper litho sided Gottschalk blue roof house originally sold to the French market as Deauville. Circa early 20th century. Appropriately marked in pencil on the bottom with "7/6" as well as what appears to read "3370". An elaborate 1st and 2nd floor railings add to the charm of this house. Interior retains its original floor coverings as well as wallpaper. Paper throughout is in excellent condition, however house could use a good dusting/cleaning. Right side of base with simulated lattice cover on wood is missing. Front steps are older replacements. Interior has a fair amount of furnishings along with china figurines, all of newer vintage than house itself. SIZE: 10-1/2" w x 8-1/2" d x 19" t. Front panel is removable so the child may rearrange and play within the various rooms. This dollhouse is in its original light yellow finish with gray base, red roof and green windows. Fine latticework accompanying the front entryway along with planters below first floor windows. Base retains original Schoenhut decal on left front corner. SIZE: 22" w x 14" d x 21" t. Description: Classic example with the most desirable of all the Bru faces. Both the head and shoulder are incised "Bru Jne 4". She has wonderful blue threaded eyes which appear to be set looking ever so slightly to the right. In addition she has the protruding upper lip with prominent tongue tip showing between the lips and has pierced ears and well painted eyelashes and thick multi-stroke eyebrows. Shoulder plate has the typical life-like qualities and is mounted to a slender white kid body with joints at the hips and the knees with wooden lower legs, kid over metal upper arms, and bisque arms on hinged joints that appear to be free of any damage or repair. There even remains part of the original paper label on the torso. Although frail, the pleated peach pink dress with ecru lace could be original to the doll. She has her original honey human hair wig over original cork pate as well as extra undergarments and a white cotton cut work dress with green silk ribbons. There is only one shoe remaining which is peach leather with the Keystone logo on the sole. SIZE: 16" (41 cm). CONDITION: Overall very good. Very slight color rub on top of upper right lip and also a very fine surface scratch from corner of inner left eye to the outside of the nose. 1-13244

Description: Both head and shoulder plate incised "Bru Jne 8" with lovely amber paperweight eyes, open/closed mouth with predominate tongue tip protruding between the lips. On all leather body with narrow waist and gussets at the hips and knees. She has kid over metal upper arms and bisque lower forearms on a hinge joint. Both wig and clothing are replacements however she does retain antique shoes which are impressed on the soles "Bru Jne Paris 10". SIZE: 23" (58 cm). CONDITION: Serious damage to head with a break across the forehead and another serious break on the left side of the face extending around the ear to the crown and back. Tape holding pieces together at this point. Thumb missing and one finger is chipped on right hand, index finger missing on left and entire hand has previous old restoration. 1-13387

Description: Bisque socket head incised "EE" having closed slightly smiling mouth, tiny blue inset paperweight eyes with well defined lashes and multi-stroke eyebrows, pierced earlobes, and mounted to separate bisque shoulder plate which is in turn mounted to an all white kid body with gusset joints at the elbows, hips, and knees. She is attractively costumed in an indigo one piece walking dress consisting of pleated silk, black velvet shoulders, front panel, and front edge of skirt. In addition she has an antique blonde mohair fashion wig with center part and up-swept braids held in place with an antique ribbon band. The shoes although leather are a later replacement. Description: Reminiscent of a Pasadena bungalow from the 1920s era. This charming painted wood dollhouse with opening front panels exposes 4 rooms including a staircase to the 2nd floor and a small bathroom on the 1st floor. A somewhat elaborate front porch with a 2nd floor balcony add to the charm of this house. Mounted on a raised wooden base a set of stairs (replaced) would allow the inhabitants to gain entrance. Appropriately marked on the bottom with number "6920". Overall finish is very fine plus with all detailing such as sectioned window inserts and drapery and doors are intact. Description: Hard to find item from the Huret company who made the top of the line French fashion dolls. This wooden trunk is edged in leather, metal bands, and brass rivets. When opened one sees a large lower space with two separate compartments and a removable shelf with lattice work bottom. In the top of the dome there are two separate drop down panels. The smaller panel exposes three pull out drawers for pins, gloves, and other assorted items. When you unhook the top part, a large single drawer drops down from the inner part of the lid. Most interesting parts are the two glass fronted window displays as well as the lithographed parquet floor. Also included is a three sided store, perhaps a milliners shop or other ladies garment boutique. One drawer contains a few later hats and another contains some small children's toys, however they have little if anything to do with the store itself.
