JONATHAN RICHARDSON | Self Portrait

Estimate: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: oil on canvas

Condition Report: The canvas has a firm lining, the paint surface is secure and stable and in seemingly nice condition. The varnish appears even and clear. The blues of the sitters jacket and cap have been painted in thin washes and a slight degree of wear is visible in parts. The white of his cravat and the flesh tones are all very well preserved. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals next to no visible restoration - the varnish does fluoresce slightly opaque - there may be some wash strengthening to parts of the dark tones of the background. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in fair condition. "In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
