Description: Baroque Cabinet. Hispano-Flemish. 17th C. Maple, palisander, walnut (parcel ebonised), tortoiseshell, bronze mountings. Table-like lower section with four legs joined by stretchers. Upper section with cabinet flanked by columns, central third shaped like a portico, outer thirds with four drawers on each side, decorated with fine floral and figurative bronze mountings. Upper section crowned by an openwork gallery edging. With carring handles on the sides. 163x124x38cm. Condition C. The lower section is a later addition. Literature: Koeppe, Wolfram: Die Lemmers-Danforth-Sammlung Wetzlar, Heidelberg 1992. For this type, cf. pg.251, cat-nr.133. Barock Kabinett. Hispanoflämisch. 17.Jh. Ahorn, Palisander, Nussbaum (tlw. ebonisiert), Schildpatt, Bronzeapplikationen. Tischartiges verstrebtes Stollengestell. Aufsatz mit säulenflankiertem Mittelteil als Portikus, mit reichen floralen und figuralen Bronzeapplikationen gestaltet, begleitet von je vier Schüben. Oberer Abschluss durchbrochener Galerierand.
