Lot 4: Blade II Blade (Wesley Snipes) Hero Wrist Garrote

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: From Guillermo del Toro's directorial turn on "Blade II" (2002), the hit sequel which many felt was even better than the original, this is a one of a kind hero wrist retractable wire Garrote screen used by Wesley Snipes. In a sequence near the beginning of the film, Blade confronts a group of Vampire Thugs in a factory, and ends up battling them in an alley outside. As they try to run him over with their motorcycles, Blade uses his various tools and fighting skills to do away with them. In one of the most spectacular moments, one of the Thugs, Jigsaw (Samuel Le), tries to run him over, but Blade pivots away from the bike like a matador, then leaps up high above the alley, somersaults through the air, then lands on the back of the bike behind Jigsaw. He then pulls a retractable wire from a wrist garrote, which he is wearing like a watch around his wrist. wraps it around Jigsaw's throat and with a violent twist, Blade decapitates Jigsaw. As the vampire's headless body turns to ash before him in a shower of fire and sparks, Blade leans forward and takes the controls of the speeding motorcycle. This is that actual hero screen used wrist garrote. It is made of special metal, and has the spring loaded retracting reel on the back, and includes a Velcro-latched black cotton wrist band. The wire itself is missing, having been removed after the actual production stunt, but it also includes the metal cylindrical pull-tip, which Blade used to pull the wire out of the garrote then wrap around Jigsaw's throat. It still has a section of the wire attached. The wrist garrote is approx. 2" in diameter, and the pull-tip approx. 1". Comes directly from the production. WHOOSH! Blade/ Blade 2 (Wesley Snipes) Blade With Mechanical Spring-Load Knives In Handle

Lot 7: Blade/ Blade 2 (Wesley Snipes) Blade With Mechanical Spring-Load Knives In Handle

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: When one remembers the cult Vampire classic "Blade" (1998) , we think of Wesley Snipes as the title hero Blade, slinking through the world, half-human, half vampire, as he protects us morals from the evil of the blood-suckers. And one of the most iconic images is his "Daywalker Blade" that he carries slung to his back ready to grab for battle at split-second notice. In the film, the blade is "created" by his mentor and weapon maker, Whistler (Kris Kristofferson), with a built-in deadly secret. If held by anyone but the Daywalker, small razor-sharp knives shoot out from the handle obliterating the poor-souls hand and fingers. This is seen to great gory effect when Curtis (Tim Guinee) becomes one of the unlucky ones to try and take the blade away in the original "Blade". And in the sequel, "Blade 2" (2002), Reinhardt (Ron Perlman) tries to outsmart the Daywalker Blade, only to be cut in half by it! This is one of Wesley Snipes' actual hero screen used Daywalker Blades complete with the trick handle knives that spring out to do their horrific damage. A special ring-trigger below the hilt keeps the knives inside the handle until ready for action. Quite rare! Oh, and handle with care! Blade and handle are approx. 35" long. Four spring-loaded knives in the handle are approx. 4" long. Includes Letter of Provenience. Additional postage may apply.

X-Men II Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) Hero Claws

Lot 17: X-Men II Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) Hero Claws

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: The one striking image that personifies the Wolverine franchise, both in the Graphic Novels, and the spectacularly successful films is his iconic claws. They have become the instantly recognizable "logo" of not only Wolverine himself, but the entire XMEN universe. Wolverine, (aka Logan or James Howlett) is a mutant who is impervious to disease, can heal his own wounds and avoid aging. The claws are part of his skeletal structure which consists of the strongest metal on Earth (at least in the Marvel Comic World), called Admantium. This metal was originally bounded to his bones by Weapon X, an evil government agency. The claws extend from each of Wolverine's forearms through the spaces between his knuckles. They are his supreme weapons, and can cut through anything on Earth. These are a very special pair of "claws". They were personally hand crafted by the legendary Jimmy Gawley (aka "Jimmy Claws") who has designed and constructed every pair of claws since the beginning of the series of films. Per discussions with Mr. Gawley himself, all the parts used to create these claws comes from actual original production Wolverine claws that he crafted for Hugh Jackman for "X-Men 2", and were on set (but never used on screen). This specially assembled set by Mr. Gawley was made for display and are not "camera ready". The blades were struck from the original actual molds used for the screen used claws as well. The bases on both sets of claws have the "FXSMITH CANADA" stamp, along with the markings of "R" for the right and "L" for the left in "Sharpie" ink, along with the adjusting Phillips screw circled (left screw for the Right claw, and right screw for the Left claw). The right claw also has the red tape on the base for easy identification. They come with a photo verified Certificate of Authenticity from Jimmy Claws, signed by himself both as James Gawley and as Jimmy Claws. The pair have three claws each with base. The claws themselves are made of special molded plastic and are approx. 10.5".

The Public Enemy (1931) Grapefruit Scene Photo Signed by James Cagney & Mae Clarke

Lot 24: The Public Enemy (1931) Grapefruit Scene Photo Signed by James Cagney & Mae Clarke

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: The iconic classic scene of James Cagney violently shoving a grapefruit into the face of Mae Clarke in the groundbreaking crime drama "The Public Enemy" (1931) has been voted as one of the top ten American Motion Picture moments of all time. Ironically the scene was staged as a practical joke between James Cagney and Mae Clarke (he was supposed to stuff an omelet into her mouth). However the director, William A. Wellman, thought it so shocking that he included it in the film. The infamous grapefruit scene was so brutal (never before did a male star treat a woman like that on the screen) that it caused an instant nation-wide sensation and galvanized women groups to protest the film. Riots broke out, and many arrests were made. Women were known to faint in the theaters or ran screaming into the lobby when the scene was shown. The only one who seemed to enjoy this was actor Lew Brice, who was Mae Clarke's ex-husband and went to the theater every day just to watch Cagney shove the grapefruit into Clarke's face, at which point he'd applaud, laugh, cheer and then leave! This production photograph of that scene is extremely rare, since it is personally signed by both James Cagney and Mae Clarke. A true Hollywood treasure! Comes with a Letter of Providence from Artie Kern who was the movie memorabilia consultant to the Song Writers Hall of Fame from 1980-1993. Photo is 8"x10".

2001: A Space Odyssey Original Stanley Kubrick Signed Poster

Lot 25: 2001: A Space Odyssey Original Stanley Kubrick Signed Poster

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: From the film that changed the course of motion pictures forever and inspired a whole new generation of filmmakers, many believe that Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is the greatest science fiction movie ever made, if not one of the greatest films of all time. This is an original poster from the 1968 release which shows the artwork of award winning illustrator Robert McCall. The poster itself is a rare collectable, however, to make this one of the all time treasures for any "2001" fan, it is personally autographed by Stanley Kubrick himself. Kubrick was well known as an extremely private man who rarely gave out autographs, especially on anything connected to one of his productions, which makes this a rare bit of grand movie memorabilia. Has fold marks and some wear. The poster was signed by Kubrick for the Songwriter's Hall of Fame Museum, which was founded by legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn. Because Kubrick was a huge fan of Cahn's work he gladly signed the poster, and included a personal note with the poster. This includes the original extremely rare handwritten note by Stanley Kubrick to Arte Kern, nephew of Sammy Cahn, and chief curator of the museum which reads: "Sorry to be so late replying. Sure I'll sign what you have. Best Stanley. PS I have never met Sammy but I am a great, great admirer!" Approx 41"x27".

Lot 26: A Clockwork Orange Original Signed Stanley Kubrick/Malcolm McDowell Poster

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Stanley Kubrick followed up his grand epic "2001: A Space Odyssey", with a smaller budget, but much more controversial masterpiece "A Clockwork Orange" (1971). At first rate "X", it tore through the world's theaters causing both adulation and repulsion. But in fact it is a masterpiece, which has stood the test of time and shows up on lists of the top 50 greatest movies. Besides Kubrick's genius in bringing Anthony Burgess' prophetic and apocalyptic future tone poem on sex, drugs, ultra violence and free will to the screen, there was the star himself, Malcolm McDowell who, as Alex, created the greatest anti-hero ever to grace the screen. This is a full size theatrical poster from the "R" rated version of the film. What makes it a treasured memorabilia is that the poster is signed by both Stanley Kubrick and Malcolm McDowell. Kubrick especially was well known for rarely giving autographs, or signing anything connected with his work. The poster was signed by Kubrick for the Songwriter's Hall of Fame Museum, which was founded by legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn. Because Kubrick was a huge fan of Cahn's work he gladly signed the poster, and included a personal note with the poster. This includes a copy of that original extremely rare handwritten note by Stanley Kubrick to Arte Kern, nephew of Sammy Cahn, and chief curator of the museum which reads: "Sorry to be so late replying. Description: During the beginning of the Cold War after World War II, a dark period shadowed over America in the form of the McCarthy witch hunts. It brought fear throughout the country, and Hollywood unfortunately went into "lock-step" by creating a series of paranoia films. One of them is "Conspirator" (1949) about a young American (Elizabeth Taylor), who falls in love with an English gentleman (Robert Taylor), who turns out to be a "spy for the communists". These films hold a great fascination and a lesson of just what hysteria can create. This is an original embossed stamped theatrical poster which becomes a great treasure, since it is signed by Elizabeth Taylor! It has fold marks, and one fold-seam tear on the top section which is very repairable. Rare and dramatic! 40"x27"

Forbidden Planet Anne Francis Signed Photo

Lot 32: Forbidden Planet Anne Francis Signed Photo

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Before the grand sci-fi classic "Forbidden Planet" (1956), space adventures were basically reduced to low-budget B movie serials. However this outer space take on Shakespeare's "The Tempest" redefined the science fiction genre forever. Alas, many cheap knock-offs were made after this, and it was Kubrick's "2001" that brought it back into focus, but "Forbidden Planet" still holds up after all these years. And the image of Robby the Robot carrying Altaria Morbius (Anne Francis) in his arms in all the posters and ads is forever etched in our minds, even though that scene never appears in the film. But that doesn't matter since Anne Francis was such a magnificent beauty, we didn't care if it was true or not! This is a B&W 8"x10" publicity photo of Anne with Robby, personally signed by Anne Francis, who also wrote her character name: "Altaria".

Lot 34: I Want To Live Robert Wise Signed Lobby Card

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: Perhaps the greatest film to show the effects of the Death Penalty, "I Want To Live" (1958) was based on the true story of the trial and execution of Barbara Graham. This is an original lobby card from this classic film (which Robert Altman did a brilliant parody of in "The Players"), signed by the legendary director himself: Robert Wise. Career Anthony Franciosa/Sammy Cahn Signed Lobby Card

Lot 37: Career Anthony Franciosa/Sammy Cahn Signed Lobby Card

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: The cult classic drama "Career" (1959) was one of the first brave productions to actually show the horrors of the Hollywood Blacklist due to the terrors of the McCarthy witch hunts in the 1950's. Co-written by celebrated blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo, it is the story of an actor, who after showing his patriotism and courage fighting in both WWII and Korea, comes home to face the cowards of HUAC who blacklist him, making it impossible for him to get any work in Hollywood. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and won a Golden Globe Award. It also holds the distinction of being the first film for Dean Martin after his breakup with Jerry Lewis. Since he still had a contract with Hal Wallis who produced the Martin & Lewis films, he owned him another movie, and decided to try his hand at drama. It was a good choice and he went on to distinguish himself in many great films as a dramatic actor. Also in the cast was Anthony Franciosa, Shirley MacLaine and Caroline Jones. This is a rare original lobby card from the movie with the signatures of Dean Martin, Anthony Franciosa and legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn who had his work featured in the movie. In good condition. Lobby Card is 11'x14".

Papa's Delicate Condition Sammy Cahn Signed Lobby Card

Lot 42: Papa's Delicate Condition Sammy Cahn Signed Lobby Card

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: The history of the geneses of the classic hit song "Call Me Irresponsible", composed by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Sammy Cahn is the food of legends. The famous story was that it was originally inspired by and written for Judy Garland as a parody of her well-known "irresponsible" behavior, and she was so upset when she heard it that she refused to sing it. However this isn't quite true (in fact she did eventually sing it on her TV show). Actually it was originally written for Fred Astaire to sing in his starring role of Jack Griffith in the Jack Rose comedy "Papa's Delicate Condition" (1963). In fact, Sammy Cahn personally auditioned the song for Astaire who loved it. Unfortunately, Astaire had to bow out of the production and his part was given to Jackie Gleason, who sang the song. The song of course went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 36th Academy Awards in 1964, and has become one of the greatest American standards, having been song by virtually ever renowned singer in the world including Jack Jones and Frank Sinatra. This is a rare original theatrical Lobby Card from the movie. It is personally signed by the Sammy Cahn. In excellent condition, the Lobby Card is 11"x14".

Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data

Description: The production of Francis Ford Coppola's astonishing masterpiece "Apocalypse Now" (1979) was so filled with mishaps, delays, heart attacks by several of the stars, storms, political uprisings, emotional and internal conflicts, and financial nightmares, not to mention the astronomical amount of time it took to both shoot and finish, it is one of the miracles of cinema that it saw the light of theater screen at all, and more important that in turn it became one of the greatest American films ever produced. The glue that held this epic together was, of course, the character of Colonel Walter E. Kurtz played by Marlon Brando.
