For work by him see the Silverwork of Burma, p.21 and pl. XI, although Maung Yin Maung is another possible contender.

Amaterasu is worshiped as an ancestor of the Imperial family whose mon is the kiku or chrysanthemum. The child bears the character kane: gold, interchangeably ichnographically as red.

Description: A rare and early Arita 'wucai' Tea Bowl, c.1680/1700, enamelled and gilt after a Chinese 'dragon and phoenix' original, the mythical beasts flying amongst fire clouds, six character Chengua mark, enamels flaking, 8.5cm The enameller was probably familiar with both a Wanli original as well as a palette derived more from Swatow, including, uncommon on Japanese, turquoise. The early 'dirty yellow', seen in the 17th century, has in parts on this bowl apparently been mixed with gold powder. No comparable piece is illustrated in The Shibata Collection.
