Description: WAFFEN-SS - SS Standartenführer and Commander of the SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment "Westland" August Hinrich Dieckmann - large certificate for the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross Double-page parchment paper with handwritten calligraphic text in brown-black ink, the recipient's name "AUGUST DIECKMANN" in gold letters and the handwritten signature of Adolf Hitler in ink. The certificate issued at the "FÜHRERHAUPTQUARTIER DEN 23. APRIL 1942" to "MAJOR" August Dieckmann. The certificate is kept in a representative folder of red Morocco leather with embossed national eagle in gold foil. The edges of the inner folder pages with decorative golden lines and the artist's signature "FRIEDA THIERSCH". Dimensions 45 x 36 cm. Apart from some blotches and scratches at the underside in very good condition, the leather band holding the parchment sheet in place still intact. With a cover letter as "registered letter" to the widow Anni Dieckmann for the described (tr.) "original certificate for the award of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross to Major August Dieckmann" from 26 February 1944 from the P5 office (awards section) of the Army Supreme Command. Also a 30 page copy of Dieckmann's file from the Berlin Document Center with detailed descriptions of his actions leading to the award of the Knight's Cross and other higher distinctions. August Dieckmann, born on 29 May 1912 in Klotzen, joins the SS in 1933 and enters the SS cadet school in Brunswick in 1935. As commander of the SS battalion "Deutschland" he participates in the September, Western and Eastern Campaigns. As SS Sturmbannführer and commander of the I. Battalion of the "Germania" Regiment he receives the Knight's Cross on 23 April and one year later the Oak Leaves. With his posthumous award of the 39th Swords for the Knight's Cross, Dieckmann - who was killed in action on 10 October as commander of the SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment "Westland" and promoted to SS Standartenführer on 15 May 1944 - is one of the few recipients of this distinction serving with the Waffen-SS.

"SS-Untersturmführer Dieckmann August, SS no. 183917". Document in the format 28 x 21 cm printed on special paper, dated "Nürnberg, 13. September 1936" with original ink signature by Heinrich Himmler. Certificate for the Iron Cross 2nd Class for "SS-H'Stuf. Dieckmann 2./Rgt. SS-'D'.", issued (tr.)"In the field, 30 September 1939" for the official award on the 28th of the same month, with official stamp of the SS Verfügungsdivision and original signature of the commander and former SS Gruppenführer Paul Hausser. Germania" on the upper right edge, dimensions 27.5 x 21.3 cm. Owner's certificate for the Wound Badge "in bronze" (!) to Hauptsturmführer Dieckmann "I./SS Rgt. Germania" from 1st September 1941 for his injury on 22 August with the signature of the SS Standartenführer Carl von Oberkamp as regimental commander. Certificate of promotion by the Reichsführer SS to the SS Sturmbannführer of the Waffen-SS, Division "Wiking", issued on 6 March 1941 in the Führer Headquarter and signed in ink by Heinrich Himmler. Owner's certificate for the award of the 1st Class Close Combat Clasp (tr.) "for courageous participation on 23 close combat days" from 7 August 1943. Issued by the SS Panzer Grenadier Division Wiking, signed by its commander and later Diamonds recipient SS Brigadeführer Herbert Gille. Certificate of promotion for the (tr.) "SS. Sturmbannführer - Bearer of Oak Leaves for the Knight's Cross August Dieckmann (SS-no. 183917 - SS-Pz.Gren.Div. Wiking)" to Obersturmbannführer from 28 August 1943 with Himmler's original signature. Posthumously (on 15 May 1944) issued certificate of promotion for August Dieckmann "Bearer of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords" to the SS Standartenführer of the Waffen-SS effective from 1 October 1943 with the cover letter of the SS Führungshauptamt, regarding the forwarding to Anni Dieckmann dating from 13 June 1944. With excerpts of the copy of Dieckmann's personnel records from the Berlin Document Center with an account of his actions leading to the award of the military distinctions. Significant group of six photos taken by the SS war correspondent Kok of August Dieckmann's funeral at Kossum military cemetery on 13 October 1943, which was attended by Herbert Gilles. Dimensions of all photos 13 x 18 cm and with the SS war correspondent's stamp at back. Private picture of Dieckmann awarding iron crosses to his men. Various photo prints of Dieckmann receiving the Knight's Cross and Oak Leaves, newspaper clippings. Expressive and significant collection of one of the few Bearers of Swords serving with the Waffen-SS.

Description: WAFFEN-SS - SS Obergruppenführer and general of the Waffen-SS Wilhelm Bittrich - pay book, documents, letters and photographs SS-pay book (duplicate) issued on 1 May 1945 by the general command of the II. SS Panzer Corps and signed by Bittrich's adjutant SS Sturmbannführer Walter Bartholomäi (SS no. 42027). In the cover Bittrich's photo, medal entries up to the Swords of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 7 May 1945. This late document only has a few entries, thereby giving ample evidence of the mindset dominant among leaders of the Waffen-SS in the face of the imminent defeat. In order not to provide the enemy with additional information, the entries are limited to the bare essentials. Nomination for the award (copy) of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross of the "SS-Division Reich" from 24 October 1941 by SS Obersturmbannführer Ostendorff by order of Hausser. Wilhelm Bittrich's pay book as lieutenant from October 1915 in Munster-Lager used until mid-1918 for his time of service at the 77th Infantry Regiment and from October 1916 at the Flieger-Abteilung 27 with entries of the (tr.) "Flight bonus" and the (tr.) "special garments" beside the settlement of the pay. Signs of use. Letter of recommendation written by the banker Martin Salomon in Berlin, regarding a civilian employment with the Kochmann company from 1923. Certificate of salary of the "Wirtschaftsstelle der Hauptbildstelle", a cover-up organisation of the Luftwaffe, from 1931. Large original photography from circa 1937 - Hitler shakes Bittrich's hand after report - with Hitler's handwritten ink signature. Size 28 x 21.5 cm. With correspondence between Leo Geyr von Schweppenburg, superior and friend, and Wilhelm Bittrich from 1971, in which he mentions that the (tr.) "close up" with Hitler and the signature organised by adjutant von Below are the only thing he owns (tr.) "from that unfortunate time" and that he would like to sell it to an American collector. Several photo documents (over 50 shots) from Wilhelm Bittrich's military career as a pilot, SS Führer and Truppenführer in the Second World War. Original and reproduced, partially captioned or signed. Postwar correspondence with Geyr von Schweppenburg, Hausser, von Manteuffel, Eberbach, Jüttner, Skorzeny, Kumm, Lombard and Klietmann regarding pension claims, history of military units and private matters. Wilhelm Bittrich was born on 26 January 1894 in Werningerode and served at the beginning of the First World War 1914 in the 4th Magdeburg Rifles Battalion, joined the 77th Infantry Regiment and then went to the still young Flight Corps, were he was assigned to the Jagdstaffel 37. After his time at the Freikorps he is taken over as lieutenant by the Reichswehr in 1923, contributes to the secret armament of the Luftwaffe and develops SS Fliegerstürme (flight units). After the establishment of the SS Verfügungstruppe he becomes battalion commander in the SS regiment "Deutschland", commander of the SS Cavalry Division 1942 and finally SS Obergruppenführer Paul Hausser's successor as commanding general (1 August 1944) of the II. SS Panzer Corps. Sepp Dietrich awards him the Swords for the Knight's Cross on 5 May 1945 and makes Bittrich to one of only about 20 recipients of this high distinction for valour within the Waffen-SS. He passes away on 19 April 1979.

Description: WAFFEN-SS - Heinrich Himmler (1900 - 1945) - a presentation book of honour "Zehn Jahre Reichsführer SS" (tr. "Ten years as Reichsführer SS") From the personal possessions of Heinrich Himmler. This book of honour was presented to him by the heads of the five SS Main Offices in the name of the entire Schutzstaffel. The presentation book bound in black leather, the cover embossed in silver. On approximately 170 pages, this book presented to the Reichsführer-SS in the name of the SS Leadership Corps records the memories of Himmler's closest companions regarding the initial ten years of the SS from Himmler's appointment as Reichsführer in 1929 until 1939. Each contribution is unique, either handwritten, typed or executed in elaborate calligraphic script. Many contributions include newspaper clippings and photographs. Three pages of dedication to Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler commemorating the 10th anniversary of his appointment as Reichsführer. During this time the SS grew from a mere 250 men into a powerful organisation of 250,000 SS members. With original signatures of the heads of the SS Main Offices: SS-Obergruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich, SS-Gruppenführer Karl Wolff, SS-Obergruppenführer Kurt Daluege, SS-Obergruppenführer August Heissmeyer and SS-Gruppenführer Gunther Panke. The following 165 pages are divided into 14 sections, each with an individual contribution by the leaders of the SS districts. Seven of these contributions carry the authors' original signatures. The individual contributions are: SS Group South - SS-Brigadeführer Christoph Diem, p. 6 - 12. SS District Southwest - SS-Gruppenführer Kurt Kaul, p. 13 - 19. SS District Rhine - SS-Gruppenführer Richard Hildebrandt, p. 20 - 28 (calligraphic script, with original signature). SS Group West - SS Leadership Corps, p. 29 - 37. SS District Northwest - SS-Gruppenführer Adolf Prutzmann, p. 38 - 49 (calligraphic script). SS District North - SS-Gruppenführer Emil Mazuw, p. 50 - 68 (with original signature). The spine and binding loose, slightly darkened. The presentation book of honour in later book wrapper for protection against light and dust. Comes with a photograph copy for study purposes. A highly interesting, unique object of contemporary history.
