When I went to look at the car he told me his lifelong dream was to build a true racecar that he could drive around town. He stated he needed the room in his garage because this dream car kit was being delivered within a week. After buying his 350Z we kept in contact and became long distance friends.
After talking to him monthly for over a year I received a call from him asking me to meet him for lunch down in the town he lived an hour South of my home in Phoenix. Over lunch he told me he was diagnosed with Cancer and only had a little time to live. He was afraid that he would leave his wife a garage full of partsif and when he passed. He also told me the only reason he woke up every morning was to work on his dream car and try to finish it before he passed.
I agreed to purchase it from him for a set amount each month and continue to allow him to work on it everyday until he just couldn't go any further. His plan was to build this car with no donor car using all new parts. Every wire is heat wrapped and every inch of the chassis is heat and sound protected. He started with a crated LS7 engine directly from General Motors and never looked back. This car is 99.9% BRAND NEW.
About 8 months later I got a call from him stating to come get the car because he just couldn't do it anymore. When I picked it up the last thing he said to me was "he just wanted to see it finished before he had to leave this earth".
I brought it to Phoenix and worked with Hoot's Ron and Customs to finish the car. Even though we worked as fast as we could, we couldn't complete it in time for my friend to see his dream fullfiels.
Where ever he is, I HOPE HE IS PROUD OF THIS GREAT CAR AS I AM... Fred

1966 Buick Wildcat Convertible (Red)

Lot 84: 1966 Buick Wildcat Convertible (Red)

Description: You are looking at a rare, surviving, mostly original, 1966 Buick Wildcat Converttible.

In 1966, just 2,690 Wildcat Convertibles were built with the 401 "Nail head" V-8. By comparison, Ford built over 600,000 Mustangs that year, 72,000 of which were convertibles! The transmission is a Three (3) speed automatic " Super Turbine 400" more commonly known as GM's heavy duty, Turbo 400. The Buick "Wildcat 445" engine is named for it's torque rating, rather than it's displacement, as were other cars of the day. These full size Buicks were known for their low end grunt and smooth power. This engine makes its peak 445 ft. pounds of torque, at only 2,800 RPM!

This particular Wildcat was de;ivered to Mrs. Elizabeth Peterson of Billing Montanna on June 20, 1966. The car remained in Montanna for 37 years, until purchased by its' third owner, who restored it and brought it with him to Arizona in 2003. At the time restoration began the car was still in very good condition and had only 80,000 miles on it.

Included with the sale are the original "Protect O-Plate " issued to its 1st owner, the 1966 Chassis Service Manual, a seperate Fisher Body Service Manual, a few hard to find spare parts, the last Ten (10) years' maintenance recipts as well as photo documentation from the car's repaint and cosmetic restoration in 2003. Also included is the original factory AM radio. Presently installed is a period correct appearing, Custom Auto Sound AM/FM stereo with AUX/I-Pod input and new speakers, for those long cruises you will want to take.

The convertible top has been replaced and a complete rebuild of all it's electrical components; pistons, motor and hoses has been performed.

This car is reliable, well maintained, and sorted out. It runs great; starts immediately, idles well, and does not smoke. The batteryis new. During restoration the front end has been rebuilt , including new ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, shocks, brake system(drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and brake booster). An anti-sway bar and air adjustable rear shocks have been added. Other highlights included new transmission and motor mounts, drive shaft balance, fuel pump, tires, belts and hoses. This Wildcat rides as good as it looks, probably somewhat better than it did when new.

Lot 86: 1982 Corvette Collector Edition

Description: The 1982 Corvette Collector Edition is the last year for the 3rd generation (C3) and the first year that the Corvette broke the $20,000 MSRP price tag. This super clean all original example came from a collection in the Central California Wine Country where it was well preserved and driven only 32,000 miles.
Upon seeing daylight after many years this Corvette was serviced with new brake pads, master cylinder, brake booster, fuel pump, and fresh fluids then driven down the Pacific Coast Highway and across the desert to Cave Creek , Arizona without incident.
With only 34,000 miles, this legandary icon has plenty of power and torque, which was very scarce in the 80's. It drives perfectly and all options including the AC works as they did 32 years ago.
