Description: PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED BLANKET CHEST. Deep Run Valley, 1st half-19th century, walnut. Attributed to the Mennonites. Six board dovetailed case with original grain decoration. Interior til and turned feet. Minor imperfections. 25"h. 44"w. 19.5"d.

Condition Report: Age split in top, light surface stains, some fading to front panel. Legs are slightly irregular but appear to be original. Lid has the most stains, light in color, both drips and a streak on the right facing side. Additional drips and lines on the sides and one down the front. Front panel has faded to a putty color but design is still good. Molding around lid has separated due to shrinkage. Age split approx. 10"l. in lid's top back left corner. Same corner has separation at the dovetails in the back panels, separation approx. 1/4" at widest point. Sturdy, molding and dovetails are secure. All dovetails have minor shrinkage.
