The volumes have a wine colored binding, with a gilt lettering over a black label on the spine, top edge gilt. Uncut. Each frontispiece has a black and white illustration, and several illustrations throughout the volumes. The Comedie Humaine volume is dated 1898, eight volumes are dated 1899, the remaining volumes are dated 1900. Aside from the dates all the volumes appear to be the same. 8.5' H x 6.25" W. Condition: all of the volumes are stamped on the inside cover Nov 15, 1905, North Williamsburg, Ont. and signed by the former owner, slight age related wear to the spine, otherwise in good condition.
