DOUBLE PHOENIX JADE URN ON STAND

Description: The Chinese white jade carved into a shape of tall urn, of tapered baluster shape, faceted shoulder supported the prominent oval neck flanked with archaic dragon suspending free rings, beneath the domed lid and faceted finial. Array of tropical leaves banded on the shoulder. Two roosters standing on both side, with spreading wings unto the central body. Elegantly presented upon a carved hardwood stand. The Jade show clean white color, finely polished, with hints of russet inclusions. The rooster or cock is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. In Chinese symbols, Roosters are believed to be able to scare away demons. The Chinese for rooster (gongji) is pronounced the same as "lucky" or "auspicious" (ji). Description: Chinese creme Nephrite jade, finely carved unto a slightly tapered globular body, raised on tripod squat legs. With domed lid supported a foo-dog finial. Two foo-dog masks emerged from the opening rim, each suspending a free ring. The exterior adorned in shallow relief carving of stylized floral tendrils formed a symmetrical geometric pattern resembled a taotie mask with seeing eyes. Description: The carved zitan wood wish-granted-wand having elongated s-curved handle, with LingZhi sacred fungus patterned head. The ruyi head decorated in relief of centralized flaming pearl interspersed by ruyi cloud and fumes. The wand characterized by deep elaborate carving of vigorous dragon encircling along the handle amidst fumes and flames in pursuit of the flaming pearl nestled on the top ruyi head. The end tip of the wand decorated with relief of cresting waves in ruyi pentagonal-prism form. The jade displays pale-grayish-celadon moist milky appearance with hints of golden russet inclusions. The ruyi, considered one of the Eight Treasures, was a scepter which represented power and authority. The ruyi was originally a short sword with a sword-guard used for self-defense or gesturing. There is some speculation that it may have evolved from a back scratcher. The head of the ruyi is similar to that of the LingZhi or "fungus of immortality" and the lotus. Description: The Chinese Nephrite celadon color jade plaque carved in shape of Musical Jade Stone Gong (Qin), is a ministerial emblem and a symbol of the exercise of discrimination and of felicity, one of The Eight Precious Things, also known as the Eight Treasures, or babao in Chinese, are auspicious symbols of good fortune. The nephrite stone is decorated on both sides in open-work carving with stylized clouds simulated the descending Fu bat borne through the clouds. The Jade plaque is connected by a gourd shaped link suspended from two conjugated gilt bronze dragons heads, while its curved body formed a ruyi shape arched frame stand in floral foliate colorful cloisonne enamel work motif. All set upon further prominent gilt bronze cloisonne enamel work pedestal. With gilt bronze symmetrical archaic dragons simulated the seeing eyes taotie mask pattern on the waisted apron. The nephrite jade shows pale-celadon color with clean tone translucent and moist milky appearance.

Condition Report: Traced numerous tiny-holes of corrosions on enamel filling, No missing wires found on cloisonne works. With normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents, and trace of declined on gilt. Normal, consider ages and wear.
