Description: JAPAN - A Japanese gift tachi, Meiji period Blade shinogi-zukuri, chu-kissaki and deep koshi-zori. Somewhat diffuse suguha-hamon in nioi, not recognisable boshi. Bohi on both sides, extending over the koshinogi to the kissaki. Muji-hada. Slightly pitted sashikomi finish. The nakogo is ubu with one mekugi-ana, suji-yasurime. Gilt, helmet-shaped copper habaki. Tsuka with remnants of silver-plated brass engraved with a karakusa pattern, Honda mon, kenukigata menuki and applied rice bales. Nashiji lacquer saya with scrolling karakusa vines and Honda mon in gold lacquer. Two obitori with leather loops. Length k/m 64.8 cm, total length 93 cm.

Description: JAPAN - A Japanese katana, Taisho and Showa period (1912 - 1930) Blade shinogi-zukuri, chu-kissaki and flat torii-zori, slender gunome choij hamon in nioi with o-maru boshi with deep kaeri, the edge partially jagged, sashikomi finish with small spots. Nakago with one mekugi-ana and kiri-yasurime. Silver-plated copper habaki with nekogaki. Mounts of patinated, smooth iron with narrow gold edge, tsuka covered with same. Ishime lacquer saya. Length k/m 70.3 cm, total length 103 cm.

Description: JAPAN - A Japanese shin gunto for army officers, Showa period, 1935 Blade shinogi-zukuri, chu-kissaki, flat torii-zori. Sugu-ha hamon, o-maru boshi with middle kaeri. Muji hada. Plain kesho finish. Nakago with one mekugi-ana and sujikai-yasurime, inscribed "Okisa Kazumasa Tetsu Kin Saku" (diligently forged of Mongolian steel by Okisa Kazumasa) and "Showa Ju-Nen Haru" (spring 1935). Gilt brass habaki with yasurime. Shingunto koshirae for army officers, part-gilt sakura bronze mountings. Tsuka covered with same, sakura menuki, grip wrapped in brown cotton cord. Metal saya with leather field cover. Length k/m 65.5 cm, total length 98 cm.

Description: JAPAN - A Japanese shingunto for army officers, Showa period Blade shinogi-zukuri, o-kissaki, tori-zorii, on the ura side a fine ko-choji hamon with ko-niye and rich nioi, ko-maru boshi with short kaeri, on the omoto side a ko-notare hamon based on sugu-ha. Masame itame-hada. Good sashikomi finish. Nakago with one mekugi-ana, kesho sujikai yasurime, inscribed "Sho Shin Koku Masa Fusa Saku" ("forged by Masafusa from iron from a suit of armour"). Gilt brass habaki with yasurime. Shin gunto koshirae for army officers, part-gilt sakura bronze mounts. Same covered tsuka, sakura menuki, brown cotton wrap. Lacquered metal saya, chape missing. Length k/m 65.7 cm, total length 99.5 cm. Showa blade of extraordinary quality regarding form, craftsmanship and tempering.

Tsuka covered with same, sakura menuji, cotton wrap. Brown lacquered metal saya with one suspension ring. Length k/m 66 cm, total length 100 cm.
