BBL: 24 inch octagon Stock: walnut Gauge: 22 long Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: Serial Number: 25898 Condition: Very fine as factory rebarreled (proofs present), 90% original blue finish remains on the barrel with high edge wear and scattered minor marks. The magazine tube retains 55% original blue finish with slide wear and some browning. The receiver and trigger guard assembly retain 60% plus original case colors with some brown discoloration. The forearm retains traces of original finish and has a 1 inch hairline crack on the bottom. The buttstock is very fine with a number of minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Mounted on a nicely figured smooth walnut forearm with Schnabel tip and straight grip stock with matching serial number stamped under the checkered hard rubber buttplate. BBL: 20 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 22 HP Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 148535 Condition: Excellent, 95% plus original blue finish with some spots of minor pitting on the receiver and some scattered minor scratches. The casehardened lever retains 90% bright case colors with a couple spots of moderate pitting. The bolt remains bright with a few small spots of discoloration. The rear sight has been replaced with a filler block and a rear tang sight added. The forearm is also excellent with some scattered minor handling marks. The buttstock is very good with a 1 1/2 inch long crack to the right of the upper tang, some discoloration around the upper tang and some scattered minor marks. The buttplate is an ill fitting replacement. Mechanically excellent.

The receiver has 90% of the original nickel plated finish with high edge wear and scattered scratches. The guard assembly has a gray/brown patina with some minor pitting on the top tang and some grinding marks on the lower tang. Hooded ramp front sight with a filler block in the rear dovetail and there are two sets of drilled and tapped holes on the barrel with filler screws. The bolt is drilled and tapped for a bolt peep sight (not included) and there are three drilled and tapped holes on the left side of the receiver. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. BBL: 26 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 219 zipper Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 1376640 Condition: Very fine as modified (drilled and tapped on left side of receiver and top of barrel), 90% original blue finish with high edge wear and scattered light scratches. The extractor pin is absent but extractor is included. The wood is fine with scattered minor handling marks and rear sling stud hole filled in. Mechanically fine.

The standard markings and proofs are on the barrel and receiver. The top tang has a tapped hole with a filler screw and the left side of the receiver has two holes tapped with filler screws for scope mounting. Mounted on a smooth semi-beavertail walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate. With a brown leather sling. BBL: 24 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 218 bee Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 1004652 Condition: Very fine as modified (tapped holes on left side of frame), 95% original blue finish on balance with some minor wear on the muzzle, along the barrel, high edges and on the buttplate. There are two replacement screws on the left side of the receiver. The wood is very good with scattered minor scratches, a short hairline crack on the left side of the wrist and a moderate chip is present on the right side of the buttstock. Sling is good.

Description: Estimate: $1000 - 1500 Winchester manufactured only about 25,000 Model 53s from 1924 to 1932. This model was in fact a slightly more modern version of the Model 1892. It was available in only one style, the Sporting Rifle with a 22" tapered barrel. This rifle was manufactured in 1928, and features a blade front sight with brass bead and adjustable sporting rear sight and half magazine. The barrel is marked with the two line address on the right rear, model, trademark, caliber designation and "NICKEL STEEL" on the left side and standard three line trade mark marking on the upper tang, the Winchester oval proof on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted with a custom multi point and diamond pattern checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with serrated shotgun buttplate. BBL: 22 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 25-20 Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 10568 Condition: Very good. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with thinning and wear to smooth gray and brown patina on the receiver, some thinning on the barrel and magazine and a smooth brownish patina on the forend cap, with scattered original blue finish. The buttplate has a brown patina with some light oxidation. The wood is very good as custom checkered and refinished showing and few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.

Pinned blade front sight and removed rear sight with folding Lyman tang sight. Two line address/patent date marking ahead of rear sight and two line hi-pressure steel/model marking and "250-3000 SAVAGE" on the left barrel side. Serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver and the rear of the forearm. Cocking indicator, polished bolt and casehardened lever. Checkered Schnabel forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber grip cap and serrated steel buttplate stamped with the Savage Indian head logo. BBL: 22 inch round Stock: walnut Gauge: 250-3000 SAV Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 182710 Condition: Excellent overall 97% blue finish remaining with lightly scattered handling marks and a small area of spotting on right side barrel muzzle area. Stock has some light scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
